COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Epic by name, epic by nature, this Farmhouse Ale is a transcontinental fusion of Belgium’s eclectic beer culture and the feisty hops of North America brought to life with the aid of West Country artisanal brewing wizardry and judicious use of the US-grown Sorachi Ace hop. On the nose, the hops deliver a big splash of tropical fruit, followed by ripples of well-seasoned spiciness spreading outwards. In the mouth a tangy, bittersweet fruitiness holds sway, while tangerine oranges tap dance their way across the tongue in the finish.

Bottle at home. Pours a clear orange with a big, fluffy pillowy head. Bright tropical fruits on the nose, something waxy, some booze and a definite hint of spicy, soapy Sorachi funk. Surprisingly bitter, really quite tangy. Orange pith, white pepper. Just a hint of soft malt, the farmhouse thing doesn’t really appear until it opens up but that’s ok. Waxy lemon rind bitterness on the finish. Soft, creamy carbonation, really spot-on actually. Really quite unique - I wasn’t convinced to begin with, but it’s a good ’un!

Bottle. Hazy golden appearance - good head. Yeast and citrus aroma. Medium bitterness - slight sourness to the taste. Drinkable but not wowing me

Slightly hazy bright yellow color with white head. Aroma has some sweet and spicy yeast notes with herbal hops. Taste follows spicy and herbal with an earthy bitterness on the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Overall it’s pretty nice but a bit too yeasty.

Lubię takie saisony. W zapachu dziko, sprawia wrażenie kwaśnego. Są lekkie cytrusy, cytryna i pomarańcz. Rześko. W smaku sporo inaczej. Leciutko miodowa nuta. Złożone piwo, dzikość saisona z delikatnym posmakiem cytrusów i solidną goryczką. Pasuje mi.

Bottle 33cl. Cloudy honey yellow. Small white head. Stays as as a thin layer on beer surface. Aroma: ripe sourish fruit, white bread, spicy yeast, spicy hops. Pepper, dill. Really different. Dry taste. Restrained maltiness. Yeast and hops leading. Spicy. Lightly grassy. Light to medium bitterness. Interesting and very enjoyable.

Bottle from the Architect, Cambridge. Light yellow, hazy, well-carbonated. A nice combination of spicy saison yeast and more sour yeasty notes. Taste is bready and spicy, with coriander notes. Incredibly short finish. The carbonation dominates the mouthfeel. It’s a lovely beer in a way, but it lacks the intensity of so many of Wild Beer’s best efforts. Refreshing more than engaging.

330ml bottle @ 5% from whole foods. Pours hazy with off white head. Clean tastes, hints of pepper and fruit. Went down easily, enjoyable.

Bottle at The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) Pours a clear golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of lemon, orange, coconut, slight dill, some peppery yeast, spice, a little grain and subtle grassy hops. Taste of lemon, orange, peppery yeast, some coconut, slight dill, maybe lemongrass and subtle spicy, grassy hops. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry and crisp, peppery, grassy bitterness in the finish. A nice, light, refreshingly crisp Saison with that distinctive sorachi hoppiness. Good.

Bottle. Cloudy light Gold. Good creamy white head. Good lacing. Grapefruit, lemon and orange citrus, peel, tropical notes. Peppery spicy. Yeasty. Grassy hops. Grainy malts. Bit earthy. Citrus fruity spicy yeasty and dry throughout. Increasingly bitter into finish. Hoppy saison. (2017-02)
