COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Epic by name, epic by nature, this Farmhouse Ale is a transcontinental fusion of Belgiums eclectic beer culture and the feisty hops of North America brought to life with the aid of West Country artisanal brewing wizardry and judicious use of the US-grown Sorachi Ace hop. On the nose, the hops deliver a big splash of tropical fruit, followed by ripples of well-seasoned spiciness spreading outwards. In the mouth a tangy, bittersweet fruitiness holds sway, while tangerine oranges tap dance their way across the tongue in the finish.

Bottle. Poured with a big head and slightly cloudy.Fruity with a bitter finnish that lingers for some time. A bit too bitter for my personal taste but still a good attempt at this very specialist style.

Slightly hazy golden with a big rocky white head. Slightly herbal and lemon rind nose with a pleasant spelt and Belgian funky gently spicy nose. Brisk flavor that pops with Sorachi Ace and gentle lemon rind and herbal nuances atop a gentle crackery and Belgian hay ester spiciness with gentle saison funk. Pleasantly crisp and zesty and gently herbal spicy.

A remarkably flavoursome beer. A nice, thirst quenching spiciness that sat nicely alongside the hops. It wasnt a session beer because of the richness and the strong mouthfeel, but still very good.

330ml dark bottle, unfiltered, brought by Piers. Mature leather with a hint of medicine. A rounded and mature flavour. Very interesting, like crushed walnuts and grape must, and a familiar flavour just escaping me. Hints of shoe polish. I find this more interesting than attractive, but I do like it.

A slightly hazy orange coloured beer topped with a medium sized off white head that stays atop the beer throughout. Slightly underwhelming smell, but pleasant with some citrus notes. Lots of taste is packed into this beer, there isnt really a list of overtones and undertones as opposed to a bunch of flavours all trying to be the biggest and none of them really succeeding - a mixture of spiciness, bitterness and fruitiness. I may buy again but there are certainly better options.
