We have a passion for flavour and a lust for hops this frisky, fragrant pale ale is the result. Whilst consistency is (rightly) the benchmark of most beers, weve gone Wild with Fresh and thrown away the rulebook. Every six months we source some of the most exciting hops from both the northern and southern hemispheres, which means two hop harvests and two excitingly different hop profiles.
Given the unpredictability of each harvest well leave it to you to discover the individual aromas and tastes, but youll be guaranteed a punchy hop character alongside an appetising bitterness and a crisp dry finish that will send you back for more. This is a beer we like to drink all through the year. We think you will too.
The first brew of Fresh has copious amounts of New Zealand hops in it. We particularly love the sherbet lemon aromas in the Southern Cross.

Bottle in beer subscription box. Legacy rating. Pours cloudy pale orange colour with deep foamy head. Aroma fruity with pineapple, grapefruit and some berries. Oily mouthfeel and resiny aftertaste.

Pint at Jeremiahs. Pours hazy lemon colour. Deceptive, as it has a much bigger hoppy, slightly musty aroma than that suggests, with some pineapple and mango. That combo is reflected on the taste. Its a bigger beer than the appearance and initial mouthfeel suggests. A really good APA, with a few marks off as it does fade somewhat midway through the pint.

Keg at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A clear golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of lemon sherbet, passion fruit, some melon, slights peach, a little biscuit and subtle grassy hops. Taste of lemon, lime, passion fruit, some mango, slight melon, peach, a little biscuity malt and subtle grassy hops. Medium bodied and an oily texture. A dryish, fruity hop bitterness I the finish. A "Fresh" NZ hopped pale ale, full of citrus and fruit flavours and balanced perfectly with a soft malt backbone. Very well made and very drinkable. Lovely.

From bottle at a restaurant in London.
Orange, hazy body, with a medium, fluffy, lacing, white head.
Aroma of passion fruit, lychee, mango, citrus, peach, earth, pine, biscuit.
Taste follows this pretty much.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes smooth, moderate bitter, medium dry, fruity, floral, a bit earthy, a bit piney, a bit biscuity.

Tasty. Nothing exceptional or unique, a typical fresh hop ale, but its so well balanced. Drinks very smooth, with the right levels of hop kick, fruitiness, dryness and some lovely earthy notes. Great Pale Ale, that I could drink all day.
