Nera.

Tap at Wild Beer Bristol. Small dark head, very dark brown colour. Aroma: coffee, vanilla, chocolate, a bit of soy sauce. Lightly sour/tart. Full body, long finish, flat. Well balanced, very good beer.

Bottle. Sweet aroma of milk chocolate, nuts, vanilla, caramel, light coffee and roastines. Really pleasant. Medium to full body, long lasting chocolate and coffee finish, little winny sourness.

Black with very little head. Aroma had a strong sweet red wine note at first, with roast, caramel, chocolate, sweet, and coffee come up as beer warms a bit. Taste is very rich, lots of coffee and sweet caramel, a strong note of sweet red fruit upfront and a good amount of roast on palate. Warming sensation on the swallow. Very nice winter warmer.

Bottle from Brewcraft, drank at home after SZ and yoga with Mummers. Medium thick opaque brown-black pour, not much tan head. Smells of heavy coffee, inky herbalness, sweet bready raisin bread and light spicy rye, vanilla bean, brown sugar, faint maple syrup, some booze (though hidden well - 11%!). Taste is similar, though more burnt/acidic and grassy/herbal bitterness, notes of chocolate and plum/dark druit and graham cracker. Body is very oily but smooth, lightly chewy and sweet middle, burnt acidic finish. Nice huge imperial stout with plenty of sticky vanilla sweetness and herbal coffee bitterness to balance. Perhaps a touch too sweet for my personal taste but well done.

Pours black with a thin tan head. The aroma is all roasted coffee with a hint of chocolate breaking through. Loads of coffee in the flavour, subtle hints of vanilla and then a big coffee bitterness.

330 ml bottle from Bieropholie, shared with asheft. Deep brown-black with a tan rim. Strong "raw" coffee, kinda green, light vanilla, dark chocolate, a touch briney, medium+ body, very low carbonation, rich coffee, vanilla, chocolate, a little briney in flavor as well, black licorice, fairly dry, moderate-ish bitterness, nice rich finish. Pretty solid. Might be a bit old.
