Aroma is typical for a good imperial stout, being complex and heavy with chocolate, roasted nuts and coffee beans. Full body, light carbonation. Vanilla, creamy lactose. Some plastic there, but its only subtle. A bit rough post-taste, feeling a punchy alcoholic feel. Very good!

Bottle from Westhill Service Station. Pours darkest ruby brown with tan foam head. Aromas are smooth with creamy dark chocolate, vanilla cream then brandy soaked fruit. Flavours hit with a roasty bold front, strong Irish coffee, creamy chocolate and an earthy bitterness. Palate is soft and smooth with a dry prickly gentle sparkle. A superb dessert-like beer. Im imagining an Irish coffee chocolate trifle. Lovely boozy stuff.

11%ABV. Imperial stout. Poured out black. 40SRM. Nose had green banana and banana flower aromas. Theres a local banana that is like a finger banana, tiny, fat and full of flavor. This smellls exactly Iike it. Mouthfeel is milky and light syrup balanced with some nice carbonation. Alcoholic palate for sure. Palate has roasted barley, vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee and some liniment. There is a bit of a ripe banana starchy sweetness to the body. Theres a bit of a plant-like bitterness, maybe even slight tannins that further reinforce the impression that youre having a just-ripe banana. There some predictable ume, burnt twig and carbon flavors. Finish is creamy, sticky, bitter with a charcoal, charred wood character. Overall, a very hefty trip with a ponderous mouthfeel, boozy body, palate with heavy, creamy, malty, starchy, sweet flavors. Again, heavy but in all the very best ways!! Goes on Favorites List!

From 330ml bottle. It pours black with a little soft carbonation at first, but no head or lacing after a short while. Aroma not as strong as I thought it would be. Chocolate bitterness is balanced by vanilla sweetness. Coffee also very evident. One to sip and savour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle (330 ml), split 2-ways. No bottling date but its a few years old already for sure. Pitch black with a small brown head, moderate retention, leaving little lacing. Aroma is intensely chocolate forward with berries, roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, soy sauce, umami notes and alcohol. Taste is sweet but not overly cloying with dark chocolate aplenty, berries, caramel, alcohol, coffee, roasted malts, vanilla, soy sauce and mild spiciness. Medium to full body. Very soft carbonation, almost still. Quite oily and thick mouthfeel. Chocolatey finish with much welcome alcohol warmth which tone down the sweetness at the end of the sip. Lingering flavors, mostly of chocolate. A pretty good flavorful sipper.
