4/27/12. My father randomly brought this down for graduation along with Wild Red - and what do you know, I haven’t had either! Dark purple pour with a small tan/blue-ish head that fades fast. Huge fake blackberry aroma - very sweet with a bit of tartness. Annoyingly sweet flavor with blackberry, which is quite fake. It tastes like a flavored berry muffin, much like the Wild Blue always has. Scroll past. dwaggs2 (1298) - Jefferson City, Missouri, USA - APR 22, 2012
Bottle. I knew this wasn’t going to be good going into it but I love blackberries so I thought it would be ok. Smelled like malts and booze. Poured a pale purple. Flavor was infused fruit and alcohol. Horrible after taste. Not a very good beer at all. BritAlesRule (216) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - APR 19, 2012
Pours a really deep purple with a nice foam head and decent lacing. Aroma is blackberry jam and candied fig. Taste is as expected but more subtle. Not too cloying. No detectable hop notes. Also no detectable alcohol. Nice palate, just nothing to write home about unless you’re into the style. topherh (1929) - Kearney, Missouri, USA - APR 19, 2012
Pours purple with a small purplish head. Aroma is sweet blackberry. Flavor is the same with a hint of booze. Like the rest of this line fruity alcopops. drjay44 (3887) - Salida, Colorado, USA - APR 18, 2012
12 oz. bottle. Pours a fizzy, short lived, pinkish purple, head, over a clear, purple (SRM 20) body.....nose is blackberry.......taste is blackberry, with over whelming simple sugary sweetness, with a lingering medicinal after taste....mouth feel light, alcohol hidden, carbonation makes a soda of the beer. This is as bad as the blueberry concoction of last year. This is simple artificial fruit dominated, carbonated sweetness. Alcoholic soda pop for the kids, just in time for summer. BJCP 4/3/6/3/4

Sample @ Pick’s Liquors. Pours a dark ruby with about a finger of off-white head. Aroma of berries. I can’t tell you if it’s blackberry per-se, but some type of mixed berry. Taste is heavily sweet...berries. Medium bodied with a highly sticky texture. Lively carbonation and too long of a finish. Overall, not the worst I’ve had. Buy a single, not a 6-pack. Pours purple with an off-pink head.
Aroma is strong blackberry, very natural flavour....you almost expect some real seed grit...high ABV is noticable at first, then settles in.
Not really "beery", but definitely a great taste and feel.
Do you remember the old "Scot-Lad" brands of soda pop? This is like the blackberry soda one with booze....and that’s not a bad thing.
A quirky, fun fruit beer. Boliv (1150) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 16, 2012
Bottle. Pours dark garnet-colored with a small, lively, pink-hued head. Aromas of sweet blackberry and raspberry, some cinnamon, and black cherry. Sweet flavor, with berry, cough syrup, and booze. Syrupy mouthfeel, slick, with medium/high carbonation. Bah. heemer77 (5361) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - APR 14, 2012
So it’s like Wild Blue, but with blackberries. This pours a deep purple colored brew with a light purple colored head. The nose is sweet with lots of fruit. There is blackberry along with a hint of toast. The taste is decently sweet blackberry juice with a mild light brew underneath. The taste is not boozy considering the abv. The mouth feel is sticky and thick. cheap (6201) - CHINA - MAR 31, 2012
When I bought this I thought it was some kind of schwartz beer from the look of the label only to find it was just another version of the wild blue AB beer but with different flavorings. From a twist off bottle this had a big blackberry aroma, very nice on the olfactory. Did not smell artificial. The first taste is sweeter blackberries but there is this alky laced thing happening that makes me think the alky was added in, not normally fermented. Yes alky backbone never goes away in this brew. Like many alky beer pops I’ve had in the past reminds me of alot of the St. Ides brew pops.
