DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A VERY SWEET BEER. Pours a deep red with a purplish head that unfortunately dissipates quickly. Definitely smells of blackberries, as expected and doesn’t really smell of much else though the faint hoppiness of beer can be detected. Tastes very sweet and greatly of blackberries with nice undertones of malt and hops. Ultimately has a nice mouth-feel and the palate is pleasing; it has a surprisingly full body for a lager and the texture is rather sticky, as it is so sweet. Has lively carbonation and is rather fizzy, almost like a blackberry soda (and probably flavored with blackberry extract) and finishes sweet. BoltonDK (572) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 10, 2012
Bottle at Mandalay.
Sweet fruity flavor.
Redish color with brown notes, light pink head.
Distinct taste if blackberry, very sweet almost no bitterness.
A special but nice lager.

Pours deep purple into a snifter. Purple head with little retention recedes to bubble surface. Blackberry aromas. Medium bodied with sweet blackberry cobbler front to back. Mildly bitter, rotten seed in the medium-length finish. Not a lot of lager characteristics in this one... but if you like blackberries, it’s an easy drinker, but this could sneak up on you as the 8% is well hidden... berrya785 (441) - Kansas, USA - MAY 6, 2012
Aroma is blackberry and spice. Pours burgundy with a pink head. Flavor is very sweet blackberries. Tastes like a fruity soda. MorganBaughman (149) - Long Beach, Mississippi, USA - JAN 20, 2013
We had this beer at the 2013 Tops of the Hops in Biloxi, MS. This line was a lot like pop, or soda, if you will. The blackberry was our least favorite, but it was still good.

Cough syrup smell and look. All of their flavored lagers are good, just one of each is enough. BritAlesRule (216) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - APR 19, 2012
Pours a really deep purple with a nice foam head and decent lacing. Aroma is blackberry jam and candied fig. Taste is as expected but more subtle. Not too cloying. No detectable hop notes. Also no detectable alcohol. Nice palate, just nothing to write home about unless you’re into the style. CardsPackHawks (173) - South Elgin, Illinois, USA - MAY 28, 2012
Picked this up after the brewery tour in St. Louis. Not the best fruit beer I have had, but OK. badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUN 4, 2012
pours a purple with minimal head. aroma of blackberry syrup or jam. mostly sweet. flavor is similar...very much like blackberry preserves. some faint cereal pr bready aspect. decent. pnesbit (111) - Marietta, South Carolina, USA - JUN 10, 2012
Dark purple pour with a small pink off white head. Aroma of nothing hut huge blackberry with a touch of wheat. Taste of huge wheat blackberry with a sweet malty slightly lingering finish. Med heavy body with a very sweet possibly overly sweet finish. Overall good beer but it would overpower food but it would be a great dessert beer that barb would love.. haha.
