Pours a dark brown. Toasted malts in the aroma. The taste has a smokey wood, cereal, and bitter hop flavor. The lager is smooth and highly drinkable. This is better than I was expecting cause of the low ratings. the smokiness of this beer gives it a unique character. tnkw01 (1800) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 19, 2010
Bottle. I it was the hops but it was just little more bitter then I expected. Somewhat of a burnt malt, toast taste. Aroma, same a taste. Brown color with a nice head and lace. philbertk (1873) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 20, 2010

Bottle. Brown with an off white head. Light roasty aroma with some sweet caramel notes. The flavor has caramel, brown sugar, and a light roasted character. Decent. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - DEC 28, 2009
(bottle - 12 oz) Clear chestnut red with a fizzy tan head. Aroma is slightly metallic with some very light roasted and nutty notes. Flavor is slightly medicinal and nutty with some very light roasted malt and cocoa notes. Very thin-bodied and a bit sour at the end with some of that same metallic twang as in the aroma.

The appearance is a deep, dark red color. Glassy but a little murky. Head disappears fast, but leaves a light-brown film. The smell is some crisp, lagery malt aromas. Also a brown-sugar smell as well. Has a nutty quality in the nose, although as it warms it turns a little musty. Average. The taste is the combo of a sweet, brown sugary flavor, mixed with a crisp, slightly sweet lager malt. Very close to a British ale, as sugary as it is. The feel is creamy and fizzy. Not a watery lager. Smooth on the way down. It’s sugary, like a sweet, British beer. Average. Cletus (6368) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 25, 2009
Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of earth, caramel, some spicy hints. Tastes earthy and sweet with a hint of bitterness on the finish. unclemike (3163) - Junction City Kansas, Kansas, USA - JUL 8, 2009
sampler pack Minimal, non-offensive odor. Deep brown chestnut color. Not quite opaque, but pretty close. Mellow dark malt flavors with a smooth sugary finish. Mild hop balancing, no real stand out characteristics. Very easy drinking with a pleasant body ben4321 (6735) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAY 12, 2009
Generously, I’ll call this a half decent brown, dull flavors, slightly malty, not much there...
