This beer is very pleasant, poors black to deep brown in color. The head leaves alot to be desired thin and gone quick. What it lacks in apperance it makes up for in taste.A nice balance between the classic stout flavor and a earthy oat note.Rich, robust and malty. 10th October 2008. GABF. Clear dark brown beer. Dry palate. Smooth, semi sweet malt. Toasty finish. willblake (2654) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - DEC 17, 2009
20091217 12oz bottle thanks to my pal Tom. Dark cola brown with small, fleeting tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with toasty bread, a bit of light vegetal, coffee, and wet leaves. Light, rather thin body would be more pleasing if the carbonation was a bit less aggressive. Flavorful for a light brew, plenty roasty, quite sweet, some lingering citrus acidity, mild licorice and vanilla. Skeegle (566) - Maryland, USA - NOV 19, 2009
Less than mediocre stout that tastes sugary and thin. Light body, very light body, and the roast complex is just lots of roasted malts. No dry qualities to it make it a watery lighter stout. Probably wouldn’t get again.
