12 oz bottle courtesy of Suttree. Best before 25307FX stamped on the bottle. Pour is dark black, cloudy, with only faint ruby highlights. Nice two inch tan head falls leaving behind streaking lacing. Aroma of slight roasted malt, some coffee notes and milkiness. Taste is a roasted maltiness, gentle pine hoppiness, chalkiness and the silky oatmeal. Element of hazelnut present too. The after taste has some bitterness, and lingering milkiness. Some earthy tobacco in the finish as well. Palate is creamy, medium to full, mouth coating. Nice stout. Thanks for sending this one my way Phil. Cletus (6368) - Connecticut, USA - OCT 12, 2008
Bottle courtesy of sloth. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells of molasses, cherries, chocolate. Tastes earthy and chocolatey with a semi-sweet finish. checkmatei1 (783) - Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 8, 2008
Bottle: Poured a coffee brown/black color with not much head at all. The aroma was toasted walnuts and malt. The flavor was somewhat bitter with hints of nuts and coffee present. Overall, a decent brew. MaltOMeal (1094) - Land of Sugar, Texas, USA - OCT 8, 2008
12oz bottle. Pours a dark brown, almost black, with a thin tan head which dissipated. Nose was of cigarette tobacco. taste was of some coffee. Mouthfeel was thin for a stout. Not impressed. thechandler (593) - Charleston, West Virginia, USA - SEP 20, 2008
Pours a dark, coffee brown. Aroma is rich and woody. A little toasty nut hint. Flavor is warm....sweet...good roasty malt flavor. Also a bit of dark chocolate on the back of the tongue. A little bit thin though. Overall, pretty solid brew.

Pours near black with a fully receding tan ehad. Aroma of oatmeal, sweet chocolate malt, toasted malt. Tastes of mild chocolate, light sweetness, smoothness lended by oatmeal. Medium to full bodied, lively carbonation. KyotoLefty (10810) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 29, 2008
Bottle. Rich aroma: malt, oats, nuts, chocolate, roasted barley. Sweet and slightly acidic. Rich, smooth malt and oat taste. Sweet and creamy, with the burnt flavor kicking in a bit later and lasting a long time. Long finish of burnt wood and roasted nuts. Thick palate, creamy and smooth. Very nice all around with great balance and pretty good complexity. Slightly too sweet and acidic for me. kseecs16 (1216) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - AUG 13, 2008
Opaque thin light brown head. Aroma is toasted malt. Fairly thin light palate mild roasty flavor. Quaffable but a little lacking in body and character. RCL (2032) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 7, 2008
Slightly metallic hazelnut caramel aroma. The flavor echoes the aroma pretty closely. A bit thin, but not bad. blipp (9929) - La Mesa, California, USA - AUG 3, 2008
Bottle. Pours dark brown with a fizzy tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, toast, and caramel. Medium body. Flavor is similar to the aroma, but with a bit more coffee present. A very average stout.
