not a huge fan of stouts but this one is a little too sweet for my taste, slightly burnt for my taste

Smoky and bitter. Chocolate malts, slightly sweet. Good nose. Slight tang. Dark brown-black w/light tan foamy lacing head. Watery body w/light-med carb. Taste is a bit watery but a decent amount of bitter malts. Tangy with very dry finish. Bitter chocolate after. Mediocre stout.

Old and musty aroma of grass and yeast. Smooth in the mouth but with a butter candy flavor... also some pencil shaving flavor. I don't know why, it really does taste like a just-sharpened pencil smells, don't ask me why. The finish is full of smoky grass and wood.

Poured with little to no head. Black color. Lightly bready, malty nose, very faint though. Medium body, thin, light creaminess. Very mild upfront, inbetween, or ending flavors ceptin fer some faint roastiness and chocolate notes. Dry finish, nuthin. Frederick killed the Goose.

Got this bottle out of a variety pack from wildgoose. It was decent for a stout with a hint of chocolate, but a bit bland with hardly any aftertaste

Based on other people's scores, I must have missed something, but I found this beer to have a rather unpleasant, almost metallic taste

maltdog (626) - New Mexico, USA - AUG 15, 2007
Walnut pour, inky brown in glass; half-inch sandy head. No lace. Fruity esters- raisin and limon- and cocoa with marshmallows. Pinesap hop aromatics. Initially tangy flavor followed by malt and berries. Sugarwater sweetness and a hint of diacetyl. Only faintly roasty. Tingly sweet-tart finish. Light bodied and creamy. Weird fake chocolate and woody/lima bean aftertaste. Flavor is so tame that alcohol taste comes through. No obvious flaws, yet a very safe and underwhelming interpretation. I would have rated it higher had the label read brown ale.

Less than mediocre stout that tastes sugary and thin. Light body, very light body, and the roast complex is just lots of roasted malts. No dry qualities to it make it a watery lighter stout. Probably wouldn’t get again.

Had this beer on 6/12/1998. Color is a deep black with low carbonation and head. Aroma has a rich roasted malt scent with a touch of sweetness in it. Taste is thick and a little sharp with a bitter end. It starts off with a good body, as it goes down you find it is not creamy. A mild roasted malt flavor comes on followed by a dry feel, and finishes with a strong but good bitterness. Overall I feel its a poor Stout, although it has good roasted malt flavors as well as a good bitterness on the end, it just isn’t very good. Also it doesn’t fit in it’s category well nor dose it fit it’s own description.
