This beer definitly sets the bar for sweet stouts. Beautiful rich color and nice head that laces throughout the glass. Taste is full of flavor and body with sweet undertones, but not overly filling like some stouts. !! pman (26) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - JAN 17, 2006
Dark and sweet, but not sickeningly sweet. Has a bit of a chocolate/coffee flavor. Probably one of the best beers out there for the price. rdelljh (155) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 5, 2007
Pours with a chocolate brown head that diminishes after several minutes. Coffee black appearance. Very sweet, malty aroma with a hint of oats. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Nice flavor with oatmeal, toffee, roasted barley flavor. dlovell2 (2236) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - SEP 30, 2007
Very sweet toasty aroma. Black with a chocolaty head. Smooth sweet malty taste with a dry finish. Very flavorfull and full bodied. Some oatmeal stouts leave you wanting more but this one delivers. Can’t find a better beer at this affordable price. dwyerpg (6368) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - APR 5, 2009
A roasty slightly odd aroma. Flavor is quite sweet, some roast. A decent sweet stout, but perhaps a little on the too sweet side. Relatively heavy also.

Found at Jungle Jim's in Fairlfield, OH. Almost black with no discernible head and minimal lacing. Creamy coffee aroma. Nice toasty flavor of coffee, nuts and some chocolate. Sweet and creamy finish. Rather enjoyable in my humble opinion. hennes (934) - Fountain, Michigan, USA - JAN 7, 2003
Pretty good - not the powerful goodness of their winter beer, but a hearty warmth of roasts and sweets on its own. Amazingly full bodied and smooth. Yankovitch333 (612) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 28, 2003
Deep dark brown with a thick tan head. The aroma is sort of faint, but slightly sweet and malty. The flavor is roasted with hints of chocolate and coffee. It's also mildly sweet. This is a very good beer. One that I'd drink again. thedm (6306) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAY 17, 2005
This bottled brew poured a small sized head of fine to medium sized light brown colored long lasting bubbles that left behind an opaque black body with no visible carbonation and a fair lacing. The aroma of dark brown malts contined chocolaty notes raisins and plum. The mouth feel is initially tingly then smoothens into a slightly tingly dark malt after taste. The flavor contains notes of mild coffee dark chocolate and dark malts with a mild hoppy bite. Pretty good and very drinkable. Well done FBC! bubbleflubber (2235) - Swannanoa, North Carolina, USA - AUG 12, 2007
On tap at the Microfestivus ’07, and my 2nd place vote for Beer of the Day... Black opaque pour with a huge 4-finger tan head that leaves thick, coating lace. The nose is of mocha and coffee. Nice semi-sweet chocolate flavors with mocha-espresso overtones. The blended hop finish is perfectly integrated within the pull. All sections of the palate are highlighted in a linear fashion, which is an excellent quality. A round body and creamy mouthfeel make this very quaffable and memorable.
