really creamy, nothing offensive or spectacular.............................
From old tasting notes. Translucent black, brown color. Creamy tan head. Earthy roasted malt aroma. Rich, roasted chocolate malt flavor has a subtle, smooth palate. Resiny biter hop finish. Lacks residual sweetness. Decent overall. altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - SEP 22, 2015
2/12/2010 3:17:18 PM On tap at Beer Temple. Nice black body with tan head. Nose of malts and coffee. Taste also of malts, some coffee and lots of sweet chocolate. Nice balance. Easy to finish. alexsdad06 (10803) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - MAR 31, 2015
Bottle at MVP from old notes. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor had roasted malts, dark chocolate, earth, dry, not much in the way of oatmeal sweetness or that typical smooth mouth feel that comes with it, pretty bland and boring. nike (966) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 23, 2011
Excellent sweet stout. Black color with tan head. Creamy chocolate caramel taste, with hints of coffee malts. Good balance with hops, roasted barley and malts. Not overly sweet, but definitely hint of sweetness. suprchunk (2994) - EffOff, Florida, USA - FEB 26, 2011
Dark beer with a light tan head. Little lacing. Slight roastiness in the nose with a bit of oats and caramel. Sweet. Smooth velvety creamy mouth-feel. A slight bitterness. Very drinkable and almost a session beer.

Poured into a pint glass.
A: Charcoal black color. Thick creamy head with good retention.
S: Roasted dark malts. Oats and some coffee. Not strong enough. Grassy hops.
T: Big phenolic taste that is a bit off-putting. Bitter hop backbone. Oats and dark malts create a bittersweet chocolate taste. Unwanted aftertaste.
M: Medium body. Great carbonation. Really smooth.
D: Just not what I’m looking for. This is my first oatmeal stout, so maybe I just don’t like the style. I’ll try another one next chance I get.

Draught at Beer Temple in Amsterdam. Black body, with a huge thick light-brown head. Very nice cookie aroma, not too strong though. The palate and taste are amazing, with a depth and complexity and a long finish. Simple but simply great. joergen (29216) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 25, 2010
