COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Civilization is an English-style barley wine made resplendent with the addition of dried Prussian lemons, tart cherries, cranberries and cocoa nibs. Dark fruit flavor abounds with roasted goodness in each sip with hints of melon and tropical aromas. A long, lingering finish evokes fresh bread and mellow pit fruit.

Amber with a white head. Aroma is light and brown. Taste is rich and sweet, and barely gives up the alcohol. There are fruity belgian quad flavors in there as well. Thanks, dad.

12 oz bottle pours a dark amber color with a nice white head. Aromas of light citrus, malt, dark fruits. Full bodied, nicely balanced, a good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice caramel and wood body. This lacks some of the harshness of some barley wines.

At rate beer awards bottle share. Pours dark amber with a modest beige head and a fruity aroma. There is a medium-bodied dark malt flavor with a dry fruity finish.

Reddish brown color. Boozy and malty body. A little citrus and dark fruit, but definitely not what I would call fruity. Sticky mouthfeel and heavy overall. Kind of s standard big sweet barley wine.

6/20/15. Growler from Craft on Draft. Wow, glad I didn’t read the description before I had this one. This is a good enough brewski, but I didn’t really pick up on all those added fruits and such. Or maybe that’s the point? Just to add some complexity? Anyway. Amber pour with a nice khaki head, good lacing. Good aroma, nice mix of fruitiness, dark fruits, caramel, biscuit, etc. Good flavor, a tad disappointing, boozy for sure, some dark fruits, biscuit, and caramel. Not bad.

Pours a deep copper brown on tap with fluffy off-white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of a hint of citrus up front that falls instantly to big rich maltiness and dark fruits. Taste follows, big and boozy, but not overly so, cherry and musky wood notes. Thick and chewy, coating down the throat, nice barley wine.
