Bottle. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of chocolate, malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla and coffee. The taste was similar to the aroma with more chocolate, malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla, coffee, booze with medium carbonation and a nice aftertaste. Really good. italianjohn (3310) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 2, 2017

Shared 12 oz. bottle poured to snifters displaying a black/brown hue, with a decent layer of brownish tan froth, and foamy spots of lacing. The nose was roasted & sweet, with notes of espresso, cocoa, molasses, dark caramel, and toffee. The taste was similar notes, with a medium to full body, soft carbonation, syrupy texture, and some roasted & earthy bitterness. Booziness & warmth pleasantly controlled the background. Surprisingly favorable offering from a brewery with past +&- personal history that I’ve neglected for quite awhile.

Pours black with a medium tan head. The potent aroma contains of coffee, vanilla, bourbon, and roasted malts. The taste has a little bit of sweetness. I get vanilla and bourbon standing out most here, with a heavy dose of coffee as a supplement. Some chocolate, some oak, some roasted malts round this one out. Long vanilla aftertaste. Full bodied, with a thick texture, and soft carbonation. The alcohol presence hits you full in here. This excellent. Its a must buy. rxeight (3317) - Illinois, USA - MAR 2, 2016
UPDATED: JUL 16, 2016 12 oz bottle. Chocolate, fudge, light barrel. Full silky body. For a sub 10% ba imperial this packs a lot of flavor and body. 3/2/16

2014 (possibly 2013) bottle lots of chocolate and vanilla. Flavor similar to BA jones but the body was watery thin.
12 ounce bottle. Pours a dense opaque black color with a smal creamy tan head. Rich roasted malt nose. Notes of prunes and black coffee. Sweet roasted malt flavor has big coffee and dark dried fruit notes. A bit of treacle and black licorice comes through here. Chewy and sticky with earthy coffee notes. A real sipper is this one. Sweet and sticky from first sip to last swallow. She’s so heavy...heavy...heavy....... coachd (971) - Missouri, USA - JAN 23, 2016
Smells of booze, oak, vanilla and plum. Aroma is sharp at first and ends up sweet. Shiny black with a cap of light brown foam. Flavor is strong bourbon barrel, with accents of vanilla and high end coffee with cream. Very slight booze burn at the end, surprisingly short lived aftertaste. Average palate, I would have liked a little thicker. Overall this was a surprisingly good offering from Wild Onion. This was expensive ($16 for a 4 pk.) but I’m glad I ponied up. I highly recommend this. mfhennig (286) - McHenry County, Illinois, USA - DEC 13, 2015
2015 version, pours almost black with a quickly receding dark brown head. Aroma of cocoa, roasted malt, dark fruit, ash and vanilla. Bourbon is not as noticeable as 2014 version. ( Had one last nite.) Flavor is pretty much as expected. This was big, thick and chewy, with a nice warm finish from the bourbon barrel aging. Very nice beer!
