UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Can. Very dark pour. Nice aroma of sweet lactose. Taste is a bitter roastiness. Smooth palate. Nice. Bacterial (3051) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - JUL 13, 2013
Can shared by BVery on the All Pints North bus back home. Dark brown pour, tan head. Simple beer. Sweet, malty and nice. heemer77 (5360) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUL 5, 2013
Can. Perfectly black pour with a thin light tan head mostly clinging to the edges of the glass. Sweet milk chocolate and notes of dough in the nose. There is also some hint of anise. The taste is cola and milk chocolate up front. The finish has molasses, anise and bits of coffee roast. There is also some stone fruit in the aftertaste. the body is silky smooth. Nicely done, but just seems to be missing a little extra oomph, either some roast or hops to make it zing. It’s good, but not great. Dragonfly1 (500) - Colorado, USA - JUN 29, 2013
Rich creamy out of the can. Thick black, can’t see through this one. Nice roasted coffee, cocoa powder on the nose, followed by an incredible creaminess and sweet milk chocolate, light coconut, and just a little astringency in the finish. This is really good, only knock would be giving this a little more carbonation to offset the creaminess. Excellent overall.

12oz. can. Aroma of chocolate and roasty malt, some faint cola and mild coffee in the background. Brown-black in color, not completely opaque though can-conditioned, with a fine, lasting, khaki head. Flavor profile is gently sweet, roasty, slightly tangy and chocolatey, with some definite toasted grain oatmeal overtones and a lightly coffeeish, lightly hoppy finish. Fairly dry and light in effervescence on the palate, perhaps a tad watery for the style, but making this easy to quaff, and with a medium body. I liked this but wasn’t blown away. It’s just a typical Stout, nothing too memorable about it, I suppose. jkwood04 (5463) - Connecticut, USA - JUN 9, 2013
12oz can in an English pint. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of light roasted malts, some chocolate and oatmeal, dough, and light hops. Flavor the same, tasting sort of watered-down. Average texture. Not great. ccex (1366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 8, 2013
12 oz. can pours almost black with a moderate tan head and a bit of lacing. Aroma has licorice, coffee, caramel and roasted malts. Body is only medium, with flat carbonation. Mouthfeel is oily and slightly creamy. Taste is slightly sweet and malty all the way through. Not bad at all, but it would be better if it were thicker. blipp (9696) - La Mesa, California, USA - APR 6, 2013
Can. Pours near black with a beige head. Lightly roasted malts, light sweetness, and a hint of coffee and grains. Not bad. EtTuCthulhu (1391) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - MAR 26, 2013
This beer pours black with a small off-white head, and the aroma smells like roasted malts, caramel, and a touch of vanilla. The taste is slightly bitter, slightly umami, and mildly sweet; the palate combines an oily texture, medium-full body, flat carbonation, and a long finish.
