12 oz. can from build-a-six at Binny’s. Hey, nice smell right out of the can, hearty roast grains without the usual burn or astringency. Rich chocolate notes. Pours a solid black body, head is foamy since it’s still canned with CO2, but hey. Taste does offer creamy texture of an oatmeal stout. More dry than sweet. Some coffee bitterness once I get more tasted. Very slight citrus edge, perhaps some PNW hops in there. I note that the can currently reads 6% abv.
Aroma - chocolate, roast, and even some smoke.
Appearance - the body is black. Head is beige, and around 1", and settles relatively quickly.
Taste - has roast, some sweetness, and a little bit of smoke.
Palate - medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a slight bit of roast. ganache (6057) - New Jersey, USA - DEC 24, 2015
Can. Nose is sweet, chocolate and roast, very light fruit. Pours pitch with a fluffy and sudsy tan head. Watery light body sweet and strongly fruity with no roast or chocolate, but there is a thin layer of brownish malt there, and some alcohol showing (too much for this sizer, really). Relatively soft (carbonation burned itself out quickly) with some nice black roast, but missing the middle roast textures and basically any coffee or chocolate in the mouth. No offensive by any means, just a soon-forgotten 90’s brewpub revival. [2015.12.25: 2.7] pineypower (3346) - Ocean County, New Jersey, USA - MAR 16, 2015
Can from Crossroads. Pours a strange cola cola color with a small off white to almost tan head. Aroma is of some mild roast, light chocolate, some sweet syrup notes. Taste is much the same, chocolate, mild roast coffee, some syrup, mild sweetness with a little touch of bitterness. Body is not creamy as advertised. 17thfloor (2444) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 23, 2015
Very nice stout. Can that’s in been in my fridge for a long time. Rich, oats, espresso, light fruit, subtle vanilla, very tasty and well done.

12oz can from Crossroads. Pours black with a small foamy tan head. Aroma of black malts, dark chocolate, hints of coffee, earth, and smoke. Taste of dark chocolate, black coffee, smoke, and earthy hop bitterness in the finish. Decent

12oz can from Spirits Xroads. Poured a deep black body with a smallertight foamy light tan head. Aroma is pretty good, notes of darker chocolate, oaats, dark toast, soy sauce, black olives and a touch of coffee. Medium body, super soft carbonation that is almost nonexisistant and a quicker fading aftertaste. Flavor is not as good as the aroma, notes of bitter dark chocolate, dark toast, cola, chocolate syrup and some soy sauce. Not bad but nothing to seek out. 12 Oz can. Pours black with a frothy tan head. Nice malt Aromas of coffee, chocolate, molasses and roasted malt. Medium sweet with complex, dark malt flavors: coffee, toffee, chocolate. Finishes with a long, bitter roasted malt and herby hop. Full body with a creamy mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Overall, yum! Great malt character, good texture. What a stout should be. abcfan (928) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 4, 2014

Can; dark black pour with a light brown head. Aroma of oats, roasted malt, leather, with touch of milky sweetness. Very nice mouthfeel; rich, creamy but light. Some oats, some sweetness, touch of fruits, and mild roasted and caramel. Could really drink a lot of this. Nice beer. mjmoen (596) - - JUL 12, 2014
Pours almost black. Coffee and chocolate aroma and flavors. Not a big fan of stouts, but this one is pretty good.
