Had this on draught in Lake Barrington, Illinois. Slightly cloudy and dark yellow, very interesting look for a pale. Nice nose of roses and hops, plenty of bitterness with notes of molasses and apple. A nice APA. StewardofGondor (1934) - Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 18, 2005
Clear orangish-copper in color with a few bubbly circles along the rim. Best aroma of any of their beers - dry hopping goes a long way. Other aroma accents include crisp lemon grass, pine needles and Mike & Ike candies. Fizzy at first hit and then prominent bitters play their part. Some malt support but it’s a little lacking. Feels like I’m swallowing a lot of air with all of this carbonation. Some earthy flowers bloom mid-quaff for an herbal accent. Decent overall. UPDATED: JUL 4, 2005 On draught at the pub: A handsome orange body with a pillowy head that does some solid lacing as you drink. This is a nice balance in smell and taste between a caramel malt backbone and some liberal grapefruit and piney hops. Worth repeating.steview (1037) - Petaluma, California, USA - OCT 17, 2004

hazy golden yellow body nearly too thick to allow its hilights to shine through brightly. lemon pepper and full; spicy pepper with lemon citrus twang. thin, prickly. nothing wanting me to want more. stales as it warms. drywallman (367) - Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA - OCT 5, 2004
Medium amber color with a minimal white head. Just a touch of malt, with the bold citrusy hops. Not real impressive, but something you could drink on a hot day (at the brewpub).

Fresh floral hop aroma with notes of peaches and pears. Nice murky amber color, not much head, white. Flavor not quite right. A little plain. Overly carbonated. JoeM500 (1908) - Crown Point, Indiana, USA - OCT 15, 2002
Beautiful orange with a big off white head. Looks identical to the Rogue I2PA next to it, but lacks 80% of it's nose. Much is lacking from the taste as well. Nicely balanced, though. Very drinkable, but very light in the taste department! booyaatribe (450) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 26, 2002
Decent. It's got a bit of an aftertaste. .................................. TAR (2776) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - NOV 14, 2001
Coming from a pretty good brewery. I love the appearance...bottle is sedimented like a hefe weizen. Of course I poured all those nice hops on in as well. The head has big and small bubbles; which I seem to find in lower quality brews. This has a fruity aroma with some grapefruit. Very cloudy and a full, rounded mouthfeel. Mine tastes a little old so I think it could be much better that it already tastes. npdempse (934) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - AUG 17, 2001
Not a bad APA, not great by any stretch of the imagination. They don't seem to be using the best hops, thus allowing more malt flavor than I'd like to taste to come through. And I'm not sure if I deduct points for slurring my ethnicity in the beer's name...
