A collaboration brew created to celebrate 16 years of innovation and our strong connection to the homebrew community. Hazy, golden in colour, this ale is brewed with Alberta’s best malted rye and barley. A Belgian farmhouse yeast provides notes of fruit and pepper. An effervescent and refreshing ale for Alberta’s warm autumn days.

Bottle thanks to Ferris/vertbaconstrips. Pours cloudy gold with white head. Nose and taste of rye, papaya, saison yeast, lemon and orange peel. Rustic farmhouse notes. A bit overcarbonated. Lighter medium body.

2013-12-08. Very hazy dark pastel yellow body with a large foamy white head. Aroma is quite dusty and musty, mild pale malt, floral notes. Flavour is a bit tart, moderately bitter up front, pale malt core, floral and flour notes. Light fruity touches, mild lemon in the finish. Smooth average plus bodied palate, pleasant effervescent carbonation. I suspect a bit more tart than it started and rye is not particularly prominent but it is enjoyable. Bottle is at least several months old. Via trade with ferris

(650ml bottle) In-person trade with Ferris. Pours a large frothy white, lasting head atop a clouded gold body. Nose of rye, yeast and spice. Good tartness, mildly spiced, tonic and white wine. Coriander, gritty and slightly ginger. Very enjoyable. Thanks Ferris! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a sticky creamy dull white head and moderate lace up the glass. Aroma is peppery Belgian yeast, grass, and fruity notes. Flavour is spicy Belgian yeast, a malty rye presence, fruity, some tartness, and a mild bitterness. Really tasty beer, job well done.

Pours a hazy orangish gold with a frothy white head and some lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus orange esthers, spicy peppery phenols and some floral notes. Taste is citrus, pepper, spicy rye malts and a nice ice clean crisp bitterness on the end. Excellent saison!

In short: A rye beer with a mild rustic twist. For rye beer lovers.
How: Growler consumed the day after I received it from Savvy1982, thanks Kyle.
The look: Partly cloudy golden-blond body topped by a small white head.
In long: Nose is has plenty of rye, a bit of lemon and citrus fruits, a light cedar-ish sensation. Overall very bright and inviting aroma. Taste is loaded with rye, not toasted rye bread or anything of the genre, here it is pure unprocessed rye cereals and lots of it. A medium spiciness typical of rye beers, bread dough, mild citric notes, shy yeasty rustic notes, not much bitterness to speak of, a bit sweet in the finish. Carbonation was a bit lacking but I’ll be generous here because this was a shipped growler. This is more a rye beer than a Saison (currently classified as a Saison) but if you like rye beer you will like this one. The first of three growlers I drank by myself that night. and I really hate when my cat is sleeping on its back in the middle of the living room and my wife thinks it is all cute and she doesn’t call it a worthless alcoholic… not fair.

Grassy and bitter. Peppery and pours full of yeast. Big head on this beer. Has a strong taste that reminds me of a leffe triple in some ways.

Pours a light golden yellow with a big fizzy white head. Aroma is grassy, belgian yeasty and a small rye spice. Taste is really nice, bready, grassy dry mouthfeel from the belgian yeast. Slightly farmy, with some rye spice. Didn’t want this to finish. Thanks to Reimer for this.

Deep golden color. Very peppery, rye and coriander nose. Very dry, peppery, coriander, somewhat funky, very dry. Long dry lingering peppery finish, but I feel it is a bit over spiced.
