Pours from 1 L bottle into a pint glass. Dark brown with tan head that lasts. Nose is malt and chocolate. I didn't notice cherry. Taste is similar. Tart finish. Good beer but I was expecting better.

Modest head, black body. Swampy barley notes on the nose, some coffee sharpness. Flavour is firm cocoa, sharp chocolate finish. Dry. Cherries are not prominent at all, which is kinda not great - at least it’s not a syrupy mess but it ain’t got the balance one might hope for. UXO (1922) - CANADA - MAR 20, 2016
Appearance: clear brown with amber-brown highlights, one finger of light beige head, good retention and lacing. (4/5) Aroma: roasty malt, coffee, chocolate, light cherry. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter, light tart. (6/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, mild bitter and light tart finish. (3/5)
A fairly well-balanced porter, with an appropriately light(ish) body. Not a lot of cherry coming through - really more of an undifferentiated tart fruit, and I’m not sure I’d’ve identified it as “cherry” without the label. Opens up slightly upon warming, but not dramatically so. Ultimately, it’s not bad, but it’s not great, either. (12/20) AgentAle (1812) - Fort Mcmurray, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 20, 2015
Aroma is rich malts, sweet cherry, light funkiness and sulphur. Taste is sweet malts, cherry, plum and raisin. Finishes with slight bitterness. Body is a clear dark amber. Head is a thin pearl head that retains fairly well. JoeZasada (317) - Beaumont, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 8, 2014
Flip top 1L bottle, 2010 dated. Pours a dark, opaque brown with a thin tan head. Light but steady carbonation. Aroma is earthy, tinny. Taste is slightly bitter, strong malt tones with roasty cereal like flavours, warms to a slightly cherry (sour) taste. Finish is of cherries. Overall pretty good; It’s a porter with cherry tones in it. northropfrye (3693) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - APR 3, 2014
On tap at national beer hall Calgary. Didn't get a lot of cherry from this. Tasted like a nice sweet stout. Lactose. Not too roasty. Enjoyable.

Dark and roasty with chocolate and subtle cherry notes. Really might have just thought "vaguely fruity" if they hadn’t put cherry in the name. Ipaluvr082 (71) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 26, 2014
Dark pour, very dark... Topped by a thin lacy brown head. Aroma is toasty malty and backed by light fruit. Tastes like a Porter, toasted malt, roasty, smooth with a hint of Okanogan cherry, just the way it should; please sir, I’d like another! Eyrish (92) - British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 26, 2014
Dark black pour, limited head, low carbonation. True porter attributes. Hint of sweet with extra smokey. Hints of cherry; not overwhelming, which I enjoy. Nothing worse than hiding proper beer flavours, with sweet fruits. Well done by Wild Rose. bulldogops (2907) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 15, 2014
Rating #909 - January 13, 2014 -1oz sample because apparently I look like I love dark beer. I guess. Craft Beer Market. Clear, dark brown pour with a foamy, tan head. Aroma is dark roast malts, chocolate, and almonds, black forest cake. Taste is full-bodied, smooth, and loaded with toasted malt character, but almost too choke-cherry. Too much fruit and sweet cocoa, not enough bitterness. Very light bodied for the style. kbudd19 (1022) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 5, 2013
Black velvety dark pour, armoma of coffee, roast, a hint of cherries but not overwhelming. Taste is much the same, well rounded and delicious. Very nice.
