COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Hoppy Hefeweizen is the result of a German style wheat ale boldly hopped with Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand. This beer is unfiltered leaving the German yeast to produce banana and clove flavours, the hops add an extra fruity punch to this refreshing ale.

Rating #1854 - 2015.08.10 - Bottle from @beerblast. Hazy golden pour, decent white head. Looks like a classic Hef. Aroma is lots of yeasty floral fruit esters, peachy white grape aroma from the hops. Palate is not dominated by any one characteristic, impeccable balance of sweet fruits and mild bitterness. Wicked beer and great with appy platters and stronger tasting foods

Pours cloudy gold with a big pillow white top. Aroma is banana, wheat and citrus hops. Taste is an almost astringent citrus hop bitterness but it’s not off putting, it works with the wheat, banana and light clove. Thanks to Reimer for this.

Pours a really cloudy yellow with a thin white head/foam that leaves no lacing. Nose is of oranges, wheat and pepper. Taste is lightly acidic and moderate bitter, offers some wheat, fruits and oranges flavors. Body is medium, carbonation moderately high and it feels a bit weak overall. Good but not worth a retry.

How: Bottle (650 ml) at Mont-Carmel tasting. From kbudd19, thanks!

>>> A good hoppy weizen with an interesting flavor profile but with a subpar - thin and watery - mouthfeel.

- Hazy white-ish golden with a small white head and some lacing.
- Interesting fruity hops presence in the nose
- The usual weizen suspects - banana and cloves - are there.
- There’s some interesting peppery notes that add a bit of depth to the flavor profile.
- It lacks of body, the mouthfeel is watery.
- It ends up rather dry, so it helps drinkability.

Flavors: Fruity hops (aroma), banana, cloves, peppery notes, wheat.

Bottle shared. Cloudy gold pour with thin foamy white head. Aroma is hoppy, nice nelson aroma, floury hop, bready. Taste is watery, light lemony flavor, light bready notes, wheaty. Palate is light, watery, thin carbonation. Average.

bottle shared by tom10101, thanks bro. hazy-cloudy pale yellow grey with a small bubbly white cap, some retention and lacing. citrusy and peppery bananas, citrus, juicy phenols, peppery wheat, vinous white grapes - obvious sauvin; spices. average to light carbonation, light body - watery; dry and crisp peppery-citrusy finish. thin yet enjoyably lightly hopped hefe.

Totally swampy deepish yellow with mountains of noisy bubbles. The head subdues the aroma a bit, but you can pick up the banana bread you’d expect. Taste gives a bit of that banana, but more sour lemon, moving to a bitter bitter finish. Not that nice.

Bottle, shared with Parksy. Milky yellow, utterly opaque, with a lively white head. Tart lemon-lime hops and spicy yeast, wheaty and yeasty. I clearly am against the grain here-- I really enjoyed this as a hopfenweisse.

Looks like its pulp in orange juice, but I’m not getting any fiber. Has a good head and ok lacing. I cannot believe how much this beer looks like juice. Anyways, they missed the mark on this on as it is much to bitter to be a Hef. I’d hate this beer if I treated it as a Germanic Hef. It’s got many of the flavours in abundance and that’s the problem mine was heavy on the citrus and bitterness and that’s not german, which should be smoother. Besides that, Hef’s shouldn’t be flemmy as a summer beer.

Pours a quite cloudy dull yellow with a small dense lasting white head with a little lace. Aroma is white grapes, floral, clove, lemony, bready wheat and some bubblegum notes. Flavour is citrus, white grape/wine qualities, zesty lemon, mild-medium bitterness, spicy, clove, and some bready wheat notes.
