hauxe (837) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - JUL 15, 2017
On tap at the source. Brown with an off white, creamy head and sticky lacing. Aroma is walnut, almond, honey. Taste is bittersweet with hazelnut notes. The bitterness takes the upper hand going into the finish and on the whole the brew ends up quite a bit more bitter than a typical brown. Body is medium, carbonation average. Good.

bnokk (536) - Lee, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 24, 2015
APPEARANCE ? thoroughly brown ale. It?s a dark brown hue, that?s much lighter near the edge. Appears perfectly clear. NOSE ? slight ale scent. FLAVOR ? hints of malt in the beginning. Finishes slightly bitter, but not pleasantly so. NOTES ? it’s brown, it has hints of being an ale, but it is not a great brown ale.
