COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wilfort is a well-rounded brown ale brewed in the traditional way. To fully appreciate the character of its roasted malts and the wealth of flavours developed slowly over time in our cellars, we recommend a drinking temperature of around 8°.

Bottled. A dark brown nut coloured beer with a good coffee coloured head. The aroma is sweet with chocolate, chocolate powder and some nuts. The taste is more of the same with some toffee and caramel thrown in for good measure. Good alcohol notes also. A very nice beer from this megabrewery.

Sampled on tap at the Mannekin Pis cafe, Montpellier. Mine was labelled at Wilfort Brune and sounds like the same one all other 7 raters have sampled - should it be changed to a Dark Lager-type style? Copper Dunkel colouring, with a small murky brown style head. Fruity aroma (forest fruits), soft mouthfeel, which reveals a subtle range of flavours: fruit (bramble, jam) and some milk choc and noisette flavouring. Sweet on the finish, nice stuff.

Reddish black beer with a malty aroma and flavour. A reasonable sweet dark beer.

33 cl bottle. Deep brown-amber colour, thin tan head. Nice caramel malt aroma, brown sugar, toast, toffee. Flavour is semi-sweet, caramel malt, toffee, toast, a bit marshmallowy and nutty. Tastes decocted. Nice brew.

Bottle: Very dark brown with lots of bead in the glass. On oddly nice dark, possibly caramelised apple aroma is totally out of sync with the rest of the tones this beer produces. In the mouth dark grainy flavours dominate with a subtle black pepper finish. There’s also a warming alcohol hit very late. Nicely balanced.

Sweet and the taste of dark malts...........................................

Bottle 33cl. A black but clear ale with medium carbonation. Aroma is very sweet and caramel like, and toasty. Nice bitterness and grassy hop flavour. Good beer, a bit difficult to digest, near to a Pelforth brune.
