bottle @ Jungle Jim’s / Eastgate OH --- Clear dark amber with a frothy beige head that stays at 1", broken curtain of lace. Taste is malt that includes a light sprinkle of spice, turning slightly bitter on the swallow, then adding toffee for a somewhat sweet finish. An interesting, light Scottish brew, lots to appreciate at only 4.2%. I’d have it again. themightyjag (549) - - JAN 30, 2015
Thin creamy off white head, nice little bit of lacing. Dark copper body. Nose is really malty, edges of burnt sugar. Flavour is dark fruits, creamy caramel and toffee finish. Light bitter aftertaste. Medium carbonation, good full mouthfeel. Cracking 80 shilling, a fine example. mabuzzer (797) - Hamilton, SCOTLAND - DEC 27, 2014

Bue en bouteille de 50cl. Arômes de tourbe, de toffee, belle longueur en bouche. Agréable et un peu différente des autres bieres de cette brasserie. deusax (459) - Grenoble, FRANCE - NOV 17, 2014
Bottle. Light peat aroma. Color is dark, but with light head, which doesn’t last. Taste is enjoyable, fresh, smoky with roasted malt notes. A very good embassador of scottish ale. MrJamesMcEwan (243) - SCOTLAND - NOV 6, 2014
Bottle. Pours light brown, with a tan head that disappates slowly. Medium bodied, low carbonation, very fine bubbles. Aroma of malt, brown bread, copper & apricot. Taste is bittersweet malt of caramel and fruitbut a bit bland. Palate is enjoyable, soft and slightly creamy feel. Finish is soft, sweet, long and enjoyable. Taste is little bland but a very good palate and finish result in a pleasant drink. shrubber85 (11322) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - NOV 2, 2014
Bottle. Light toffee malt and hay aroma. Brown with nice light tan head. Light smoke, cocoa malt, and straw flavor. Light body. Quite pleasant - finally, a Scottish Ale (aka bitter) from Scotland.
