Bottled. A deep red beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of dusty hops, malt, caramel, and some fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and some spices, leading to a dry spicy finish, where also a note of nuts appears. The alcohol tickles the tongue. Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Reddish amber/brown colour with mediumsized off-white head that sticks around for quite a while. Aroma is caramel malts, mild peated/toasted notes as well as some slight fruity and floral hops. Flavour is quite much the same with also some grassyness lurking in.

Appearance is chestnut brown with a large, lively beige head that is long-lasting and leaves nice lacing.
Smell is burnt caramel and butterscotch, with a background of vanilla.
Taste was like a typical dark scotch ale, subtle and bittersweet, with a dry finish.
Very nice beer, easy to drink, interesting and amusing. cgarvieuk (25251) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 27, 2009
