Keg at The Cardinal’s Hat, Worcester. Black with cream head. There is an immediate flavour of chocolate despite the low temperature, quite creamy with some bitterness as well. There is a charry note to the malt. Fullish on the palate. Not bad.

FinnIckler (891) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 6, 2017
Cask at the bow bar. Nose is toast, dried fruit, chocolate, coffee. Palate is toasted coffee beans, a bit watery. At 4.2 it is a bit underwhelming.

ManVsBeer (10946) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 19, 2017
Keg @ Nightjar, Hebden Bridge. Near black with a thick creamy off-white head. Crisp, it has a light tasting stout character with its roasted malts best in its nose.

Half pint at Drygate Brewery in Glasgow. Very dark. Rather cold. Not much head. Black.

Pours a black colour. Taste is of roasted malts and balanced sweet and bitterness

Keg at VDeep, Leith. Impenetrably back with a huge tan head that just sits there ominously. Caramel and liquorice in the aroma. Taste is sweet and savoury, almost like salted caramel. Finish is savoury with a hint of blood. Too kegged and too cold, but once it warmed up a bit I got a feel of the character.

3.6
androman (2801) - Maarssen, NETHERLANDS - FEB 6, 2015
1/3 pint keg @ hanging bat, Edinburgh. Body is black, head is big, beige, creamy, fully lasting, excellent lacing. Nose is roasty, aroma is light coffee, chocolate, vanilla. Medium sweet, medium to heavy roasty bitter. Medium to full body, oily texture, nearly flat carbonation. Easy dessert beer.

3.3
Leighton (22304) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 3, 2015
Keg at The Vintage - Leith. Pours black-brown with a dense, creamy tan head. The nose holds moderate roast, dark sugars, lacto sugars. Light sweet flavor with ashy roast, dry cocoa, tobacco. Light bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Sweet finish with decent balance, more ashy roast and lacto sugars. Not bad.

[6407-20140628] Tap. Roasty malt wood bread aroma. Hazy, dark brown red body with a long-lasting foamy off-white head. Bitter burlap roasted malt flavour has a long toasty finish. Medium-full body. Good. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

Keg at the Red Squirrel. Pours black, too cold and fizzy, flavours mostly muted but there was some chocolate in there.

on tap at the hanging bat in edinburgh. black with a lasting beige head; quite a roasty aroma, suggestions of bitter chocolate and coffee grounds; some nutty flavours - liqueur-like, withh plenty of burnt bitterness in a very dry finish. pretty tasty
