In short: A delicious and subtly hoppy British pale ale with a subdued richness and oily hop character.

Cask @ Brickskellar in DC, it looks downright amazing, from the soft green-tinted hazy body to the rough and rocky sea-form head, speckled with hop particles, it almost looks like cinnamon sprinkled on a souffle. Aroma-wise we’re talking about soft, wet, oily hops, resinous even, but all-together quite soft. The palate is hefty but not thick or syrupy... full bodied richness of solid pale malt and a green, young, wet quality to the hops, it’s surprisingly satisfying and delicious, and I could imagine drinking a few of these in one sitting. Fruit and spice is present but makes a minimal contribution, mostly muted by the green, damp hops, but bitterness is kept in check. A delicious spice and hop English cask ale that I can’t help but like.
On cask at the Brickskeller. Pours a hazy greenish yellow with a thick, lacing white head. Smells sweet, a little smokey with some lemons and sweet candy. Flavor is lemony and grapefruity. Slightly thick on the palate. Forgettable. anders37 (26251) - Malmö, SWEDEN - FEB 7, 2008

Hazy golden color. Simple but pleasant ale, with traces of sweet cookies, and a good hopping. The final is quite bitter, and with even more cookie touch.

(Cask) Creamy off-white head that leaves nice lacing, atop lightly hazed amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, some fruitiness, faint peat. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some fruit, light earthy, peat. Light-medium body, very creamy (as if on nitro). Nice session beer. [At Stockholm Beer Festival 2005] A pale orange beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet hoppy with light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, giving it a sticky mouthfeel. The end is slightly hoppy and dry. rlgk (18847) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 2, 2005
(Stockholm Beer Festival 2005) Golden, white head. Toffee aroma, with some hops and fruits. Flavor is a bit hoppy and grows stronger in the finish. larsniclas (7040) - Billdal, SWEDEN - FEB 23, 2005
Cask at The Rover, Gothenburg, Sweden.
Deep golden. A lot of citrus-aroma.
Rather full-bodied and flat.
Ok bitterness with fine maltiness. leaparsons (10504) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 20, 2004
Worcester Fest. Hazy orange/gold with a small white head. Aromas are sour oranges and yeast. Flavours are oranges with spices. Grain and...at this point I got tired of this type of beer. Going for the Scottish beers at this festival has left me all golden-aled out. The end.
