Williams "Joker" is our wildcard, this is a copper coloured ale, medium bodied and a pleasent mix of spice and fruit, which stretches the palate to a smile!

AROMA: citrus, floral, cereal, grapefruit APPEARANCE: golden, clear, minimal head, TASTE: light sweetness, medium sourness, lightly bitter, PALATE: light body, sticky, soft carbonation, astringent OVERALL: uninspiring, bit too much on the grapefruit

Pale golden beer with a foamy head. Aroma is citrus and hop as you’d expect and the taste follows suit. It’s a fairly standard beer of this type to be honest but it’s pleasant all the same.

This is actually the Joker IPA, on cask in Glasgow. Yellow-tan. A fairly clean, basic melony-fruity hop nose. Fruity taste, lots of clean pale malts. Basic APA, good sessionable stuff.

Scotland: Thistly cross beer fest. Rather boring average cask bitter. Nor worth seeking out.

From cask. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is crisp citrusy and peachy. Bitter, light toasted malty and peachy to grapefruity. Bitter and dry hoppy into a crisp hoppy finish.

Cask at Euston Tap, London. A golden/amber coloured pour with a small white head. Malty, hoppy aroma. Tastes malty, fruity, spice. It is OK.

EdKing (2651) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 22, 2011
Cask in Euston Tap incorrectly listed as IPA. Pours golden with a touch of orange, nose is very grainy malt, bit of citrous hop. Taste is grainy cereal malt, and fruit citrous notes.

Cask @ Bert’s Bar, Edinburgh. Pours a cloudy golden with some head, which mostly goes. The nose has citrus, pine and then pine resin on the end. The taste has green vegetables, probably runner-bean. The palate is medium bodied and textured with a nice clean finish. Overal, a really tasty and sessionable ale.

imdownthepub (15336) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 20, 2011
Cask conditioned at The Kings Head, Melrose, Scottish Borders. Brownish amber with white head. Bready malts to the fore with some background leafy hop notes. There is a pine leaf twang. Reasonable.

NobleSquirrel (3439) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 18, 2011
Cask as Scottish Joker IPA at Map Room. Pours a quite bright copper with a frothy soap bubble head. Nose is spicy hops, light citrus and some musty malts. On taste, it is crisp and pretty clean. Spicy hops are very prominent with some citrus in the back end. Full bready malts. Pretty solid bitter, really.
