Bottle from Tesco, consumed at home. Dark brown with a large khaki head. Milk chocolate and espresso scent, with hazelnuts and a slight herby/minty note. Sweet taste, there is a slight bitterness in the finish and more so in the aftertaste. Not particularly complex, and some of the flavours promised in the aroma didnt quite come through. Smooth, silky mouthfeel. Very nice indeed.

Tasted this at the GRAF, in The Briggait, Glasgow on the 27th June 2014. Cask, gravity dispense. Pours a dull black with a thin creamy buff head. Smooth mocha coffee aroma with a thin, sweet prickle of orange zest, long in intensity. Thin creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Dark malt complex gives a good range of flavours with smooth chocolate malt to the fore. Strong notes of mocha coffee, liquorice, chocolate truffle and sweet orange in the mix. Distinct note of coriander with the earthy hop resins, giving a unique herbal flavour to the aftertaste which is poles apart from the malt component. Finish is smooth and very malty with Terrys chocolate orange and a hint of roast grain coming through in the palate. An excellent stout with a wealth of flavours and well recommended.

Bottle. The problem I have with many Wiliams Bros beers is that they typically have an awesome aroma and a watery, bland taste that fails to deliver. This one is no exception. Moccha flavours of a stout are well merged with a coriander, citrus and tea mix that is often found in witbiers. All is held together by a soft note of vanilla bread. Really intriguing. But how comes the taste is so watery and the flavour devoid of any depth? It comes across like a dry though milky smooth stout with some additional witbier characteristics. Suitable for fast drinking but the aroma promised much more. Either way, its an interesting session beer.

Bottle courtesy of Kate P. Thanks! Pours black with a good creamy head. This is pretty good stuff. It has a nice creamy mouthfeel. The flavours are all roast malts as you would expect, theres chocolate mostly, plus a little burnt toast and coffee. Theres some spiciness too. A solid stout.

Burgers (343) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 20, 2014
Black with a medium beige head. Roasted malt aroma. No sign of orange zest, faint trace of fusty coriander seed. Taste is medium sweet, bitter and mild sour. Mouthfeel fairly light. Not bad, could have been very good with a few alterations. Tastes like a heavier beer.

Apariencia: Color negro con una capa de espuma cremosa, abundante y duradera. Aroma: Complejo donde predominan el caf, el chocolate y las maltas tostadas. Sabor: A cacao, un ligero toque a naranja con un agradable y lupulado amargor final.

Pours cloudy dark ruby with half a finger of initially fairly soapy but then later creamy and pillowy light tan head, which retains well. Lacing is think Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, spices, a slightly herbal hop note and a little bit of fruitiness that is hard to pinpoint. Roasted malts provide a fair amount of bittnerness in the taste which goes well with the ever prominent dark chocolate, although the fruity note from the aroma is absent. The spicy note is however more pronounced, but overall the taste is a bit too watery. Body is thin and carbonation is soft, but the texture is smooth enough to make for pleasant drinking, helped by a good alcohol warmth on the finish. If it were little bit less watery this would be a fantastic brew, but its still pleasant enough as it is.
