Midnight Sun is a black porter style beer, created from a blend of malted barley, oats, roasted barley and chocolate malt, balanced with a generous handful of hops and a wee bit of fresh root ginger. We really like it and hope you do too!

500 ml bottle with a BB date of July 2016. Looks great, with a generous tan head over an essentially black body. Full body with medium+ but soft carbonation. but .. the aroma is unappealing. My initial impression was that the ale was infected, but with further consideration I’ve concluded it is just an unfortunate mix of the roasted grains and the fresh ginger root. The flavor follows. O: disappointing.

Aroma: Medium coffee, dry fruits, light lemon, Appearance: Dark brown body. Small, creamy, light-brown head. Good retention. Lacing. Flavour: Medium-light chocolate, toasty, Medium bitterness, light sweetness. Light astringency. Light toasty. Dry finish, lingering chocolate, husky, and light astringency. Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium-high carbonation, creamy. Husky astringency. Overall: The astringency is a bit too strong. But the overall beer is good. 500 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre! 12B. Robust Porter

Bottle of 50cl in cosmic café. Expiration: July 2016. Harsh acidic on the nose, unripe cherries. Nice color little brownish head. Too strong ginger, sourness and bit plastic taste as well. Lacks chocolate, coffee roastiness and smoothness on the palate. Carbonation is good and body is appropriate. OK beer.

Bottled 500ml. -Courtesy of kajser27, shared with him and Marko. Black coloured, small brownish head, light roasty nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, hint of ginger and subdued alcohol with mild presence of licorice in the finish. Pleasant one.

Thanks to kajser who brought it from Russia! Blackish body, brownish head. Aroma... chocolate/cocoa with some vague, but definitely present ginger on a malty base, quite nice. Taste... more of the chocolate/ginger interplay, slightly roasty, slightly minty, light in body, a tad too light for me but still a tasty beer!

Bottle @ home. Marrone, opalescente, schiuma beige fine abbastanza persistente. Aroma tostato, frutta secca, cacao amaro, caffè freddo. Lieve erbaceo. Gusto abboccato, poco amaro, acidulo. Caffè ed un leggero piccante, come di zenzero candito. Piuttosto rotonda, corposa, mediamente carbonata. Un filo astringente. Equilibrata e piuttosto armonica.

Bottle from my Secret Santa, thank you McTapps! Aroma dark roasted coffeeish malts with a hint of sourness, generous grassy English hops. Clear very dark colour, stable brown head. Taste is rich with malts, dark roasted, chocolate and coffee, but also toffee. Hops is present, but does not disturb, traditional English flavours, grassy, kind of Fuggley. I might even detect the ginger, but without the commercial description I would describe it as minty, fresh flavour. Long roasty finish. Very good.
