Midnight Sun is a black porter style beer, created from a blend of malted barley, oats, roasted barley and chocolate malt, balanced with a generous handful of hops and a wee bit of fresh root ginger. We really like it and hope you do too!

Near-black beer with a frothy head. Slightly sweet scent with a toasted edge to it. Taste is toasted malt, a touch of chocolate along with the oaty-ness and some underlying fruit as well. Slightly lively on the tongue. Its not thin or watery but it doesnt have the body I was expecting either. Very nice.

Bottle from Tesco. Pours a dark chocolatey brown. Very light tan head. Aroma has some burnt chocolate notes. A light note of balsamic. Quite meaty. Dark brown malted loaf. The ginger is there but providing some solid support. Taste is creamy with a cheap chocolate ice cream note. Ginger snaps. Bitter coffee notes. Cola. Medium length bittersweet finish. Slightly spicy on the palate in the finish. Medium to light carbonation and a medium to light mouthfeel. Potent porter with a twist that sets it apart....

I prefer March Of The Penguins but this is a common sight and usually a cheap, dark option in most Scottish pubs.
Pours a decent dark, clearish cola-brown with a soft fizzing brown ringed head. Nose is soft soily leather, pepper and light roast with some drinking choc notes later on. Taste is much the same - fairly clean with a roasy and spice edge on the finish. Carbonation from the bottle solid throughout, nice sweet kiss to the rounded mouthfeel on the linger.

Musta olut beigell, kohtalaisella ja runsaasti pitsi jttvll vaahdolla. Tuoksussa paahteista maltaisuutta, suklaata ja kahvia. Mys maku paahteisen maltainen ja kahvinen sek jlkipuoleltaan suolaisen salmiakkinen. Keskitytelinen suutuntuma. Jlkimaku silyy suussa kohtalaisen pitkn. Ihan hyv tuotos, mutta hieman enemmn tss saisi olla syvyytt.

Courtesy of Jaghana. Couleur noire, lgre mousse beige. Definitely not!! Pas mauvaise mais "gache" a mon gout

Hints of molasses in aroma. Black pour with dissipating cream head. Bitter burnt malt upfront. Not much mid palate and slight home brew teste on the finish.

This is a good beer, but a bit too watery. The carbonation is almost absent, making it a rather strange experience, yet not unpleasant. Hints of smoke, roasted nuts and plums add towards the taste. Its smooth and a pleasure to drink overall.
