Bottle dated 10/19/15 and opened 06/19/16: Sweet woody nose that pours with a quickly dissipating head and a translucent orange hue. Pleasant carbonated mouth feel. Front pallet of oak w/ toffee sweet malt and spice but not much pumpkin taste. Finishes semi-sweet. Dr_Fellini (1020) - Norfolk, Virginia, USA - NOV 23, 2015
Bottle to glass. Picked up at the VIP release. Pours a beautiful light mahogany color with a thin light tan head. Aroma is a nice pumpkin in spice with a touch of toffee, vanilla. Flavor brings out much more the barrel character, including lots of toffee and vanilla with a nice christmas spice finish. Best pumpkin beer around! Cask at DoG Street Pub. Dark amber to near copper in color with spotty bubbles on the surface. Aroma is soft pumpkin pie, soft spice, oak, vanilla, caramel, brown sugar and candyish notes. Taste is stronger pumpkin pie, spices, vanilla, bourbon notes, oak, brown sugar, and candied yams. Body is medium with a soft creamy carbonation and a mild warmth with moderate stickiness. Ends with more pumpkin pie, oak, vanilla, light toasted coconut, brown sugar, soft spice and bourbon notes. Absolutely delicious! Worth the trip, as I came up only for this.
