This one poured a deep copper color with a small, beige head. Great aroma. Slight alcohol taste but not overwhelming at all. Great barleywine.

At the Barleywine event. Aroma is hops, caramel, dark fruit, more fruity than sweet. Appearance is light brown, light tan head, clear. Taste is booze, barrel, weird, caramel, woody as fuck. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, woody booze aftertaste. Overall, not for me.

Pours hazy, translucent honey-golden with a nice ivory head. Aroma delivers strong fruity, mainly pear and berry notes plus a malty hint. Fruity flavor delivers apple, pear, malty and subtle woody notes. Mouthfeel features OK body and fizz. A grand illumination.

Dark brown. Some complexity in this beer. Grape skin, cardamom, and some green olive. Moderately sweet, some grit.

koleminer20 (3591) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - SEP 7, 2015
From notes. 07/26. The pour is a muddy ruby brown pour with a thinner off white ring of head and no real lace. The aroma is good. There is a lot of caramel and malts with a strong dark fruit and a decent underlying dank hoppiness. A light cherry hangs around the end of the nose. The the flavor is not that great. There is a little metallic tendency here. Dark fruits and a strong sugar. The dank hoppiness takes over half way through and dominates out the back. The mouth feel is lighter than it looks with a pretty light soft carbonation. The aftertaste is lightly hoppy and sugary, which is a little off putting. Could've been so much better. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

figgy malty and spiced aroma and flavor. warming while showing little heat. not incredibly complex, but very very satisfying. it’s billed as an English barleywine, and I enjoyed the lack of hops in this one.

bierenjoyer1 (103) - Illinois, USA - MAR 31, 2015
At first I thought it smelled like a cola vs an 11.2% barley wine. The look was pretty much spot on. The taste was a little flat without much to do other than the carbonation. There are hints of malt, a bit of heaviness but still thin on feel and flavor. This is not what I expected and I was looking forward to this since I traded for it due to its rating. I feel bummed. Oh well.
