COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An Imperial Porter brewed with a Haitian sugar called Rapadou. Rapadou is a traditionally processed cane sugar that lends a great toffee caramel flavor to our 8.5% ABV Porter. Watch for this one aged in oak barrels in the future. Limited edition of 2007 bottles.

Bottle from unknown place. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Big artisanal sugar note on the nose. Lots of brown sugar and roasted malt on the tongue. Finished clean. Solid.

22 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a dark brown to black with a khaki head of foam. Good retention. The beer is a pretty strong ashy presence. A little footy. Sweet and roasty. Big body and moderate carbonation.

Pours very dark brown without much foam. The unrefined Haitian sugar is strong on the presence, and has a caramel/molasses quality. It’s there on the flavor, too, along with really rich, dark malts. Pecan and brown sugar notes, a little bit of cloves. Really very good.

2016 bomber from Dominion Wine and Beer, and a 2013 bomber shared by GenDV110+OT, tasted side by side. 2016: deep brown with tan head. A: roast coffee, chocolate malt, ash. T: bittersweet coffee, roasted malt, chocolate. decent. 2013: dark brown with minimal tan head. A: boozy malt, chocolate. T: strong caramel malt, chocolate, booze. Cellaring has turned it into more like an American strong ale. Rating is of the 2016.

22 oz bottle (2016) shared by DCLawyer, thanks Jason! Side by side with a 2013-ish bottle that had been rotting away in my cellar. Dark brownish black with tan head. Aromas of licorice, cocoa, caramel. Tastes of licorice, cocoa, dark fruit, caramel, dark chocolate, roasty notes. Medium body with a dry finish.

Like a sweet dessert in a bottle. Reminds me of a caramel fudge brownie almost. Aroma is big sweet chocolate, roasted coffee, vanilla, toffee and caramel. Pretty accurate to the what the label describes. Very sweet, but not cloying. Taste is big and chewy. Tons of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, and toffee. Reminds me of a heath bar. Really tasty, and definitely on the sweeter side. Highly recommended if you like sweet porters and stouts. Cheers!
