Draft at Barcade, pours black with mocha head. Notes of butter oak, layered rich booze, coffee, vanilla bean, and cocoa dust. Medium to fuller body with a rich palate and mouth. This thing was creamy as fuck yo. keanex (1799) - Atco, New Jersey, USA - MAY 13, 2013

Bottle with Ray and Ryan. Pours black with mocha head. Coffee, chocolate, vanilla, oak, bourbon. Big bourbon and vanilla flavors. Creamy mouthfeel. Boozy and tasty Darwenus (1159) - Virginia, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Pours deep brown with absolutely no head. This thing is flat. The aroma is OK. It’s the mingling of bourbon, coffee and chocolate malt I expected. The flavor is alright, too. Very sweet. Big chocolate, but not bitter chocolate like I like. Just a really sweet, syrupy chocolate. Coffee and bourbon and a little hint of hops. Look, here’s the thing... this stout tastes pretty good, but there are a thousand other stouts that taste pretty good, too. And with Russian imperials like Old Rasputin out there at significantly lower prices, there is just no need to spend what amounts to too much money on a trendy, mostly alright beer like this one. 2010 Bottle shared by Drew. Pours black with a dark tan head, decently clear. Nose is faded coffee, more cocoa forward with an acrid slant. Clean with light oxidation. On tasting, it is a bit thin on the palate. Medium roast and medium bodied. Noted alcohol and faded coffee. Balancing bitterness. Neat beer. Bottle @ home. Pours opaque black with a medium, creamy dark tan head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is vanilla, fig, bourbon, toasted/charred oak, dates, plums, molasses, chocolate and roast malt with earthy coffee notes and spicy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with lightly sweet chocolate, figs, plums, dates, brown sugar, vanilla, oak, and bourbon with earthy coffee notes. This beer is well-balanced with light fermentation fruity esters and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation with medium alcohol warmth, light creaminess and no astringency. beernbourbon (1600) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - MAR 29, 2013
Bottle opened by Blake, thanks! Pour is nearly black with a creamy tan head. Aroma and flavor loaded with coffee, roasted malt, and light vanilla tons of coffee but not obnoxious. Solid Tmoney99 (14978) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 25, 2013
bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a clear dark brown color with a minimal frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate, vanilla wood and bourbon alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy sweet wood and dark malt flavor with a heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer. maxwelldeux (4433) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - MAR 11, 2013
Bottle at a bottle share. Pours a near black color with a small tan head on it. Nose has some huge coffee elements to it. Tastes very smooth with some great roasting and coffee notes in there. Huge fan of this one.
