Bottle. Pours black with an off white head. Smell is malty and roasty expresso with some popping sweetness. Taste is vanilla, bourbon, sweet milk chocolate/cocoa, bold expresso, faint oak. Coffee really holds up to the bourbon. Really nice. DrSilverworm (10000) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 26, 2012
22oz bottle, shared by Andrew. $9 from Beer Run. Wow, big chocolate milk nose. Black color, thin lighter brown head. Nice wood flavor, light bourbon, very nice. Bittersweet taste. Very smooth and silky mouthfeel. Light carbonation, medium / bigger body. Great coffee and light bourbon combo. Delicious, but impressively balanced beer. anders37 (27658) - Malmö, SWEDEN - DEC 26, 2012

Bottle. Appearance: black with little mocha head. Aroma: big coffee and dark chocolate, mild bourbon, sweet syrup. Taste: coffee and dark chocolate with bourbon and oak coming in middle and sweet and bitter coffee finish. Mouthfeel: slick and thick with low carbonation. Overall: this is pretty awesome with nice bourbon and barrel flavors but not super strong. Great chocolate and coffee 'stoutness'.

UPDATED: APR 7, 2017 22oz bottle courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Cheers, John! Pours a hazy porter brown with a tan head. Nose is bourbon, vanilla, marshmallow, coffee, coconut, and chocolate syrup. Flavor is similar- chocolate, marshmallow, light booze, vanilla, and bourbon. Medium in body and very nice overall. Nice balance of milk stout, coffee, and spirit. Relatively light in body but the finished product is greater than the sum of its parts. faroeviking (11343) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - DEC 13, 2012
Botella. Deep dark brown colour, brown small head. Lots of chocolate, coffee, vanilla and roasted malt in the sweet aroma. Good mouthfeel indeed. Lots of chocolate, coffee and roasted malt in the flavour, vanilla too. Quite sweet. Good bitterness. Huhzubendah (3775) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 7, 2012
Bottle split with mdfb79. Thanks Dan.
The beer is near black with a thick beige cap that leaves some decent lacing on the glass.
The aroma brings a heavy dose of coffee, followed by chocolate, vanilla, light booze. I am a regular coffee drinker, and certainly appreciate a nice coffee aroma in an imperial stout.
Nice flavor. Relatively sweet, with a pronounced milk presence. Almost sugary like chocolate milk. As in the aroma, coffee plays a major role, while the bourbon presence is subdued. Vanilla and coffee for the most part. I never found the sweetness to be cloying, and had no trouble with my half of the bomber.
Medium bodied with appropriate carbonation. Fairly sweet, with prominent coffee throughout. Though the abv isn’t particularly high for a bourbon barrel stout, it is disguised gracefully here.
Overall, I enjoyed this and would definitely have it again. Recommended.
