Bottle shared big thanks to iphonephan. Pours black with a big brown head. Aroma of big coffee, roast, bourbon, vanilla and cocoa. Flavour is over moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Lovely! SudsMcDuff (8429) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - SEP 22, 2013

Smells like fresh ground french roast, flavor is initially very intense but smooth coffee. Not overly bitter. The middle is earthy and slightly sweet and watery for a moment and then the coffee comes back in a slightly dry finish that has a sweet, espresso-like fruitiness and at the same time is a little peppery. The bourbon isn’t super forward, but it’s there. Although the body is a little lighter than what I wanted, the mouthfeel really works. On the pour and the first sip, you’ll feel underwhelmed - but when it all comes together, it really is an excellent stout. Travlr (24745) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 30, 2013
Bottle at Birch & Barley for ajax25g’s 26th, a pleasure drinking with you. Cloudy brown color, almost flat. Aroma is pure coffee. Taste has coffee, cocoa, coffee, very subtle anise, and coffee. Coffee finish. Tasty enough, if you like coffee. alexsdad06 (10393) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 24, 2013
22 oz. bottle from ksurkin. Pours a dark brown to black color with a small creamy khaki head. The aroma and flavor had big dark roasted coffee notes, chocolate, well integrated bourbon character, vanilla and some background bitterness to the finish. Solidly balanced flavors, first class.

Pours relatively nice. A little light on the head for the style. Smell is weak coffee, light, light oak, and syrupy chocolate malt. No bourbon.
Flavor is more of the same, but without any real coffee. The oak is a little stronger, but the bear in general is too round and it feels as though the barrel aging actually stripped this beer of character while not adding much.
It isn’t a bad beer, but for the style, look elsewhere. brystmar (1314) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 18, 2013
Thanks Scott! Black with zero head. Oaky. Coffee/bourbon blend is refined and balanced. Not a bomb of either flavor; just really damn good. I need more. beechner224 (1024) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - AUG 17, 2013
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2015 Bottle from trade with Bim. Color is black with medium beige head. Aroma is mix of coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon. Taste follows suite with strong chocolate, coffee, vanilla, bourbon, and oak. I find it to be very well balanced, and very enjoyable. Everything mends together well which makes drinking it much to easy. rxeight (3080) - Illinois, USA - AUG 9, 2013
Trade with CUE45 - thanks for this amazing brew. Black pour with a creamy milk chocolate colored head. Aroma has a bit of bourbon, although less than most and a huge amount of coffee. Taste is largely coffee a nd a lot of sweeteness, a touch of bourbon and a kiss of chocolate. This balances the coffee abd bourbon better than most. Nice thick and creamy mouthfeel with a touch more carbonation than most bba stouts. This is truly a fantastic beer. Better than KBS at their own game. PriorL (3068) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUL 20, 2013
