3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
THOUGHTS: Decent American wheat ale. A little more hoppy than I prefer a wheat beer, but it does make it interesting.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a hazy, dark, brownish amber with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma contained light to moderate wheat, light pine and citrus hops; light doughy yeast; slight bubble gum; citrus; and something like clay. The initial flavor was moderately acidic and slightly sweet; while the finish was moderately acidic, slightly sweet and lightly bitter with a short duration. There was citrus fruit, wheat, yeast, citrus hops and light pine hops. The light to medium body was somewhat dry with fizzy carbonation and a metallic finish.
Bottle from Alewerks. Lighter amber with nice dense white head. Mild citrus nose. Hint of spice, dry and some earthiness. Nice feeling over the tongue. PorterPounder (8286) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - FEB 17, 2016
Williamsburg, Va - on tap at Alewerks Taproom. Hazy medium golden soft snow white head, light lace. Neutral aroma hint of wort if you try hard. Light bubble gum, some bready notes, some hard candy sweetness. Smooth mouthfeel. Not a whole lot going on here. DavoleBomb (1867) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 11, 2016
Poured into a pint glass. Bottle.
3.75 A: Well hazed yellow-orange-brown color. Two and a half fingers of frothy foamy off-white head. Retention is good and lots of lacing is left.
3.5 S: Big floral, piney hops with grapefruit and a touch of generic underneath. Neutral wheat maltiness. Definitely a hop forward brew we have here.
3.25 T: Again hop forward, but with a low bitterness. Floral hop flavor dominates with just a touch of pine, earth, and grapefruit underneath. Yeasty breadiness.
3.25 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Lightly creamy and a touch chewy. Good enough here.
3.25 D: Fairly standard hop forward APWA. Nice drink, but nothing special.

Bottle. Very disappointed in this one. More like a Wheat Pale Ale than a Regular Wheat Ale. Had way too much hops for a "German" style Wheat Ale. BrettTaylor (784) - Radford, Virginia, USA - JUN 24, 2014
Pours a hazy gold-orange with thick white head. Aroma - spicy, grassy hop(?), some citrus. Taste - citrus, wheat. Short grassy/citrus finish.

Sampled from a 12 o brown bottle this beer poured a hazy apricot color with a huge foamy orange-white head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was spritzy and crisp orange, lemon, cracker and clove. The flavor was dust wheat, bread, lemon and perfume. Medium length finish that turns dry. Medium body. Ok. weihenweizen (4111) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - JUN 11, 2014
Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, April 15, 2014 bottled on date, poured into a weizen glass. Pours deep golden with medium white head. Aroma is light herbal hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and pretty good big bubble lacing. Taste is herbal hops, a little citrus, with a bitter finish. Just above average for the style for me. coyforce (684) - California, USA - MAY 11, 2014
Very average wheat ale. Initial aroma is hoppy like an IPA but the flavor leaves something to be desired. Beergeek23322 (2643) - Chester, Virginia, USA - NOV 17, 2013
7/3/2010. Sampled at the brewery. Hazy golden color with a white head. Aromas of coriander, clove, malt, hay and light fruit. Tart, malty flavors with bitter hops on the end. conway (2210) - - APR 4, 2013
Bottle. Unfortunately think this one is past it's prime too. Pours hazy gold with no head. Nose is almost undetectable. Taste is a little musty and a strong hint of apricots. Palate is very thick. Weird for the style. Hope to retry.
