Pours a cloudy brown with small tan head. Smells of roast malts, brown breads. Taste is sweet and moderately bitter - bread, hint of cocoa, and floral hops.

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2016 APPEARANCE-nut brown in color, with red hue. Light and creamy looking head. NOSE-nice light roasty malt scent. FLAVOR- malty and sweet flavor with just a bit of roasty notes to rounding it all out. Really excellent brown ale!!

Williamsburg, Va - on tap at the Alewerks Taproom. Light brown pour, soft bone colored silky head with a Light film of lacing. Touch of coffee and topsoil in the aroma. Flavor has some nutty accents, a hint of chocolate, earthy topsoil finish. Thick enough mouthfeel.

Draft at Alewerks Taproom. Muddy light brown body with a thin, off-white collar. Sweet malt, fruity aroma. Light bodied, bready, slightly sweet. A nice note of caramel candies. Easy drinking. Solid.

Bottle... Pours clear and brown with copper highlights and a small, flimsy, white head. The nose is both toasty and nutty. Medium to full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor is nutty, toasty and pleasantly sweet. Mildly chocolaty finish with a hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. Draft at the Fat Canary for a birthday celebration. Fairly standard brown ale appearance. Great coffe aroma with a hint of dark malt. More coffe in the flavor too with a touch of bitterness. Nice and not boring.

Bottle pour @ the 21st Richmond Gathering. Amber pour with a small head. Loads of caramel. Hot cross buns. A bit of cocoa. Taste is overly carbed. Loads of cola, nuts, caramel. Chocolate malt. Brown toast. Meidum body. Carbonation takes away from it a bit.
