Finally got my hands on this! Bottled. Pours copper with a small white head. Nose is fruit, caramel, and nuts. Taste is very fruity with berry notes, caramel, earthy hops and nuts. Body is light-medium with moderate carbonation. Ends with more berry, peach, cherry, caramel and nuts. Very odd amber ale.
Burnt gold color, brilliant amber-orange when held to the light, thin tan oily head. Aroma of sweet caramel with a touch of sap. Flavor is sappy throughout with a malty sweetness, caramelly, but with so much hop flavor its not really overbearing caramel. Lots of evergreen and earthiness. Lovely, why does this have such a low rating? if it had the label of a different brewer (say... Stone Pale Ale) it might have had a much higher rating. A rather heavy syrupy palate. alobar (3832) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 4, 2011
