UPDATED: JUL 9, 2008 Bottle from Once Upon a Vine North in Richmond. Hazy pour is the color of Boston baked beans. Fruity aroma with caramel, toffee and berry notes. Taste is hoppy with berry and sour cherry notes along with a malty finish. A little on the thin side. Some people below seem to be getting sour notes and some are not. I did. Do we have infection issues again?argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - APR 6, 2008
Update: fewer infection issues in the second bottle from the same sixer. Rating updated accordingly.

Bottle... Pours clear and new-penny copper with a small, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. The faint aroma is of toffee and vanilla. Medium-bodied with modest carbonation. The flavor is both malty and bitter - toffee and citrus rind. Finishes rindy and fairly bitter. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian! DocLock (11189) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 12, 2008
Bottle from State Line. Pours clear ruby with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is scotchy malt, vinous fruit, berry, red grapey notes. Tastes malty, a bit merloty, with a lot of berry, grape, and some figgy notes throughout. Decent. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 21, 2010
355mL. Poured a clear reddish amber with a nice, medium, beige, rocky head that has decent retention and leaves very nice lace. Nose is very nice citrus florals, nectarines, air freshener, loads of caramel. Taste is malt-forward, nice citric character to balance with a slightly suddy, soapy palate. Very nice nutty bitterness coming into play. Slight diacetyl that is appropriate for the style. Really good session beer. 3fourths (9367) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 2, 2008
Clear red amber color, close to no head. Strange smell of nutrisweet and tea, cherries, some sweet coconut and dried pear. Sweet, fresh flavor, a but of a fruit cocktail/pear/pineapple/marischino cherry flavor, not really that good, a bit simple and weak, low carbonation. Ok, but nothing great. radagast83 (8624) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - MAY 31, 2010
12 oz bottle. Beer pours a dark, rich red color with a very small head. Aroma is malty, with notes of yeast. Flavor is malty, with touches of bread and yeast. Another flavor I can’t quite place. Okay, but certainly not the best I’ve had from them.
