Draft @ Willi. A sorely underrated beer (though I do remember liking it less the first time I had it; batch variation?). Pours a clear, light bronze color; thin white head with excellent, fine-bubbled lacing, glistening. Basic dry toastiness and a touch of sweet cereal in the aroma. The mouthfeel on this is actually quite nice: medium feel; some sweet malts and bubble gum / toasty sugar upfront, with some lively mineral / citrus bitterness present as well; crisp, dry, and very toasty; remarkably drinkable and surprisingly tasty, generous stuff. Lengthy finish: dry toasted grains, some husks, and just a very satisfying, lasting toastiness / cereal note at the far end. hophead75 (2012) - Largo, Florida, USA - NOV 30, 2008
Sampled at the brewpub. Golden in color with a small lasting off white head. Aroma of pale malts/grain, lightly toasty, with some light earthy and floral hops. Taste is much more flavorful than the average brewpub American golden- fresh pale malts, some lightly biscuity and toasty specialty malts, some floral hop character, dry with a crisp moderate hop bitterness for the style. Nicely done. Drake (13737) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 9, 2012
Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear copper color with a medium sized white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of lightly toasted pale malts, herbal hops and a faint resiny note. The taste is lightly toasted grain with fruity and floral hops. Medium bodied - refreshing. Reynolds314 (3450) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 9, 2012
Nice pleasant golden with light flavors but nothing out of balance. Light sweetness, light spicy hops, and a solid doughy yeast presence. I like it. JStax (6482) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - OCT 20, 2016
Draft sample at the source. The beer is a clear yellow with a white head of foam. The aroma has bready and grainy cereal. Doughy and crisp taste. A. It of a spice bite in the finish. Medium body and medium carbonation.

I expected this beer to be their "accessible" beer, and while it is, there's quite a bit more flavor than expected. Clear golden body. Aroma is medium sweet, pine and some grapefruit. Taste is pine of medium intensity bitterness, some grapefruit, slight caramel malty. Medium body, slightly chewy. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - APR 15, 2012
Willi brew, grainy and light. Light hoppy aroma Very drinkable I really like it. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 7, 2013
Tap. Pours a clear dark gold body with a small wispy white head that faded quickly. The nose is clean bready malt with a touch of light fruitiness, minimal to no hoppiness. The flavor is pretty clean as well, pale bready and doughy malt, a light sweetness on the finish balanced with a little bit of hop bitterness. Light bodied and easy drinking with a touch of clinginess, soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty solid effort for a usually boring style. UnionMade (621) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 14, 2002
These guys make so many beers. If I go there once a week, they have at least one new beer. I wasn’t super into this golden ale, but it’s crisp and refreshing, light bodied, and has a definite lager feel to it. Hops taste very german, very smooth and understated. A well crafted beer, just not my personal thing. My girlfriend loved it. She ordered another pint. tiggmtl (4545) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - APR 1, 2005
Mild fresh hop aroma is floral and lightly spicy. Bright, clear, golden body with low white head. Fresh grainy malt with floral, spicy hops and fair bitterness and some very nice fruity esters. Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Sampled at the brewpub with MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere.
