UPDATED: MAR 19, 2014 on draft at willibrew, big roasty ashy hoppy IPA, gotta love it when its so local.Thick body, extra rich roasty finish. Bitter throughout. iowaherkeye (2804) - Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA - JAN 24, 2011
Draught at brewery and growler at home. Hazy deep ruby when a flashlight shone through--black otherwise, with a one finger light beige head, fair retention. Tangerine and citrus hops up front with some toffee and light roasted malts and lightly sweet chocolate behind. More piney as it warms. Flavor follows with the lightly sweet chocolate and toffee coming more to the forefront, fighting the hops for dominance. Dry finish with bitterness peaking at a 4, light alcohol noted. There’s some lemony hops going on as well in the aroma, but not getting it in the flavor. Medium-full chewy body with light carbonation. Pretty good, though not kick you in the face hop forward. Thanks for a solid beer in the gimmicky style that most brewers dunno how to brew! joebudzjoe (677) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 17, 2011
12 oz draft from the Brewery. Pours a cola brown with a minimal tan head. Smells and tastes like your usual IPA, with added smoke, wood and leather smells. The hops have kind of an abrasive, excessively piney flavor that takes away some enjoyment from this beer. Not bad, but not worth getting again. Cletus (6368) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 30, 2010
Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of resiny hops with lots of spicy undertones. Tastes of sticky, resiny hops, some molasses, some sweet malty hints and a peppery finish.
