Man was I happy to see this on cask. Came with a frothy creamy 1 finger full of head, atop a dirty orangish color. Aroma is strong floral, citrus and piney hops. Flavor starts with some nice mellow malt sweetness, sweet caramel, followed by a firm but pleasing bitterness and a rush of delicious hop flavor. Floral and citrus hops dominate, the finish out with some piney hops. Finishes very smooth, and insanely drinkable, even at 6.9% abv. I must say this year’s batch was better than I recalled the last batch, maybe a slightly different recipe? Who knows, but I just can’t get enough of this batch, and on cask? Insane. Growler from the brewpub. Pours a murky orange-brown with a thick white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel malt, grapefruit, and tropical fruits. Flavor of caramel malt up front with a dry, citrusy, fruity finish. Nice hop character. This is very similar to the Three Cents just a little maltier. Very tasty, great stuff!

Enjoyed a pint of this one on draught at the brewpub in Willimantic, CT. This beer pours to a murky, deep orange color, with a tight, white head that fades, and a moderate carbonation. The nose on this beer is very inviting, with fragrant, spicy and piney hop aromas. The palate is firm, with some good sweet and caramel malt flavors, paired with a nice, spicy/herbal hop flavor. This beer finishes with more of those good malty and hoppy flavors, up front, then ends with some good spicy/piney hop bitterness that lingers. Another well done IPA from Willimantic. I really enjoyed the hop bitterness and hop flavor in this beer, as the pint warmed, you realize you are drinking a very hoppy and bitter beer. This one went great with a cup of their spicy potato soup, and would work well with a number of dishes on their menu. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - SEP 29, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 9, 2010 Cask at Brewpub. pours a slightly hazy light orange with a nice tight fluffy white head and nice lace. Aroma is nice raw fresh hoppy aroma- very floral, citrusy resinous and some pine needle. Grapefruit and pine sap flavor resiny, with a good bready light sweet carapils malt and a raw tacky cohumulone bitterness gets a bit prickly but nice. . Very drinkable. Nice IPA. On tap at Willimantic on the way home from a weekend in Boston for EBF. Pours a hazed orange amber with a thin white head. Bright citrus and pungent hops. Big and earthy, lots of malt. Earthy and malt. Smooth with a long grapefruit and quinine bitterness. DYCSoccer17 (3703) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 21, 2005
The description at the pub said this was 6.9% and "an unfiltered IPA with Nugget and Golding Hops with 5 Malts". Floral citrusy-orange crisp refreshing aroma. Mild pine notes--nice. Mild/moderately transparent copper/amber color with an off-white head. Sweet, orange, citrusy hops to start with nice sticky caramel malty middle. Finishes grapefruity bitter. Nice IPA. Clear gold with almost no head. Floral and citrus hop nose, light pine and mild malt. Sweetly bitter citrus hop flavors, a mild caramel malt. Good. nimbleprop (8454) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - DEC 26, 2006
This was my favorite of all the beers I had there. This beer was a murky straw yellow, but very appetizing. Smooth, bitter flavor but very balanced. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - OCT 19, 2008
