Medium bodied, slight cocoa sweetness. Gentle warmth, touch of booze and cocoa. Smooth and easy. glennmastrange (2881) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAR 8, 2011
Tap. Dark bread, cereal, mild coffee and dark chocolate make up the moderate aroma, light herbs and earth for the hops and yeast, with hints of prune and cola. Head is small, creamy, light tan, with some lacing and is almost fully diminishing. Color is black with some sediments at the bottom of the glass. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes slightly sweet and acidic and lightly to moderately bitter. Palate is medium, watery with a lively carbonation and finishes a lightly dry and chalky and slightly alcoholic. Complex in flavor and nice smelling, this Porter is a good one to sip slowly.
