On tap at brewpub. Pours brown with almost no head. Primary flavors are a delicious blend of raisin, plum, chocolate and licorice. Finish is held nicely. Good tasty brew, perfect for ribs and dark meats. Immy (1958) - Virginia Beach, USA - FEB 19, 2009
On tap at the brewpub. Clear dark brown with a small tan head. Nutty nose, coffee and chocolate. Sweet nuts and mild chocolate flavors, light fruitiness. Nice, but a bit sweet for me. JoeMcPhee (9549) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 26, 2007
Dark brown beer with a creamy dark brown head. Very chocolatey aroma, milk chocolate and malted milk balls. Herbal noble hop aroma lurking behind the sweet chocolatey malts. Well-lagered and quite clean tasting. Lots of dark toasted malt. A well-constructed doppelbock. Cletus (6368) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 22, 2007
Pours a deep ruby brown with a thin tan head. Smells of nuts, coffee, chocolate and some dark fruit. Tastes of dark chocolate and nutty with a sweet malty finish. A bit too sweet for a doppelbock. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 28, 2006
