Ancient backlog. Aroma very spicy, practically curry-like. Flavor much the same, rather abrasive and astringent, with a malty sweetness that clashes with out of place tart notes. A little messed up.

Draught @ Brewpub: This one poured a Very dark golden color that had a red tint to it. There was a small off-white head that left no lacing. The nose was somewhat spicy. There were also faint notes of fruits and wheat. The taste is very good. It was slightly tart with citrus, other fruits, and some spices.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy brown with a small off white head. Aroma of lots of spices, water chestnut, spruce, and pepper. It reminds me of those Christmas ales. Flavor is also quite spicy upfront with some wheat in the finish. Like the name suggests, this beer is strongly spiced. It’s not bad, but it’s hard to drink a whole pint of it (although I started to warm up to it by the middle of the glass). Interesting beer.

Pours rust/copper with an off white head. Smells of sweet wheat, fruity, dry, yeasty. Tastes fruity and yeasty with some touches of honey on the finish.
