Draught sample at the brewpub. Pours amber with a thin tan head. Smells of perfume, toasted malt, some citrus. Tastes of toast, some earth, a hint of bitterness, some wildflowers. Well rounded and full bodied. Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - SEP 29, 2008
Pours light coppery orange with a nice thin white head and great lace. Aroma is floral and lightly citrus hops and a great bready malt backbone. Great bready doughy light toasted malts int eh flavor cut with a fresh herbal and floral german hops - slight grassiness, perfect moderate bitternesss for the malt used and just insanely drinkable. Sampler size sample. Poured a pale golden yellow, nice initial head, pretty good lacing. The aroma was malty, some honey and bread. The flavor was comparable to that, rather refreshing with some fruity esters adding to the profile. The mouthfeel was dead on for a summer beer, full enough of flavor yet not thick or heavy. In the big scheme of life, a boring style (and beer), but done quite well within the category.
