The description of this beer on 2/15/06 is "A dark unfiltered stout brewed with seven malts and gently sealed with a kiss of vanilla. 5.5% ABV" 4 oz sample, then pint ordered--Sweet, sugary chocolate milk aroma with vanilla notes present as well. This aroma is beautiful and is reminiscent of the aromas of Dieu Du Ciel’s Aphrodisiaque and Kuhnhenn Creme Brule Stout. Nearly opaque dark brown color with a small, flat, listless off-white head and no lacing. Sweet vanilla-like start, turning milk chocolatey in the middle. Finishes a bit roasted with more chocolate in the finish. Very pleasant, candy-like. A pleasure to drink. This rivals Dieu Du Ciel’s Aphrodisiaque, except it is a bit thin and the head retention is poor compared to DDC’s beer. muzzlehatch (4970) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 9, 2003
Powerfully sweet aroma; milk chocolate and caramel. Dark, but not opaque body with very thin quick-dying head. A little too much carbonation; comes off like a chocolate/caramel/licorice soda. Which ain't necessarily a bad thing mind you. VENOM (941) - Connecticut, USA - AUG 11, 2002
Opaque. Thick tan head. Huge roasted chocolate flavor with notes of barley and a smooth vanilla essence. Medium bodied. Luscious and rich, although not too filling. Perfect dessert brew.
