Draught @ Brewpub: This one pours a clear, very dark amber color. There was absolutely no head on it, nor was there any lacing. The nose is good: lots of malts to it. Mainly caramel with a touch of biscuit. The taste is good. Lots of malts, a touch of biscuit and spice. There are some hops trying to give it a hint of bitterness but are not succeeding. Visited the brewpub 1/25/2014. Dark amber color. Nose is simply caramel malts. Flavor has light biscuit, caramel malt and a very faint fruity note.
Body is back by toasted grain. But let’s talk about the body, why is it so thin? I mean the flavor is here but the watery texture really detracts from it. Find a way to beef up the body because it’s possible this has something going for it. I nearly forgot to rate it. Yeah, it needs something to make it memorable.

Draft at the brewpub. Same reddish amber as most of their lineup. The aroma hints at pie cherries. And it drinks with a fruit syrup thing, in both mouthfeel and taste. Mildly rich malt, and a cloying finish. I want waffles, (#4908, 1/15/2013) Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - JAN 8, 2013
on draft at brewery, this one is very odd, toasty and malty, like a german beer, very thin and watery body that kind of screws it JoeMcPhee (9458) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 31, 2009
Tap at the brewpub. Deep amber beer with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly toasty with a soft sweet crackery character. A little bit of toasted malt and some other sweet caramelly flavour. Very clean maltiness with a bit of noble zesty hoppiness over the clean base. Munich malt flavour really comes out. A very simple, but surprisingly complex ale. I don’t really think this is an ESB... more alt than anything.

Crystal clear amber body with small off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, toasty caramel. Taste is medium sweet, toasted caramel, some orange. Light-medium body. Nice but a little one-dimensional. Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 26, 2007
Pours coppery with a thin white head. Smells of citrus, some flowers, pine, roses, some spice. Taste yields some nice dry pilsnery hints coupled with lots of spices and a fruity finish.
