Towey1989 (3035) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 30, 2015
Cask at The Cobblers, Leek. A clear ruby brown colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of liquorice, nuts, some smoke, slight coffee, subtle caramel and a little wood. Taste of caramel, nuts, some coffee, a little smoke, slight dark fruits, liquorice and subtle spicy, earthy hops. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A bittersweet, caramel, nutty bitterness in the finish. A full flavoured malty bitter some sweet caramel, nuts, spicy liquorice and subtle dark fruits. Drinks above its strength too, nice.

50cl bottle from Green & Black, Trentham. Copper coloured with a ring of cream head; malty aroma; caramel malt taste with a rather thin body; then a nutty finish. A pleasant Northern-style bitter.

Bottle; deep ruby with a centimetre of tight, creamy off-white head; yeasty, bready aroma from bottle, then a wonderful if bizarre whiff of Baileys; coffee flavoured top notes with mellow fruit undertones; big, creamy mouthfeel; dryish, fruity finish; after an underwhelming Wincle Sir Philip the previous evening I wasn’t expecting much, but this is pretty nice stuff

Bottled A fantastic, bitter, nutty, warm beer with a great mouth feel and a bitter afternote. The taste is caramel and nut and hop and is delicious. A dark coloured beer that has a great flavour!
